We have a new cooker -Black glass and SS surrounds - Zanussi 20 series.

The control panel is black with faint white icons printed on for knob function - The knobs are black as well so they blend in perfect -and that's the problem.
On each knob is a small groove from centre to edge - same colour as back ground. In day light you can just see it but at evening when lights go on -no chance.

So yesterday the white plastic model paint came so I set about masking around slot and feeding in the paint with a tooth pick (cleaned it first with Isoprol).
left it for 2 hours then pulled tape off - paint had run along minute grooves spun into face of knob -After a lot of cussin I cleaned it up -put it back on and great untill wife wiped it all over after meal -
Got up this morning and paint has gone.

Has anyone got any great ideas. - Sticking something on might not work due to fine groove milling on face of knob.

Hope this helps.
As can be seen the control knobs have a small groove in them and that is your guide to where it's pointed to or where it should go to switch off.
The picture looks like it's readable but I can assure everyone we can not see that groove in daylight or the coming of dusk - It shows up better with kitchen lights on.
I did try to fill the groove with white paint and even though I cleaned the groove with spirit cleaner the paint fell out.
So any suggestions on a permanant marking of the groove - I have cut a small piece of Dyno tape and stuck it over one groove mainly to see if it will stay stuck.

White nail varnish?

A coat of lacquer over the top of when it’s dry and you should be sorted.

Failing that, one of those permanent and waterproof white paint pens? The Army use blue ones to put armoury rack numbers on rifles and those get battered/wet/hot/cleaned daily.

could make them glow in the low light ? V
Did some reluming of clock hands ...
purchased 5g/£2 Strontium Aluminate with europium , mixed knife-tip worth with some car clear-coat laquer, and daubed on alarm clock hands after some IPA cleaning,
it re-charges during daylight then glows ... much easier than expected providing the laquer doesn't eat the hands.

The white labels you use on letters, just cut a thin strip from that and stick it on, it should stick on ok. Replace when necessary. If you want it to stay on longer, stick sellotape over it.
