Just wondering, ive had mine sitting vertical since i got it and sometimes the drive refuses to eject, it'll make a sound like its ejecting, then make a sound like the drive is closing again but nothing actually happens. Ive had it down at game and they couldn't reproduce the problem, just dawned on me that maybe theyre testing it in the horizontal position.

Anyone else havint this problem from time to time in the vertical position?

I used mine vertically for 4 months or so and it was fine. Have you changed the faceplate recently? If so, could that be badly fitted?

Nothings changed, i got it friday and noticed the dvd behaviour later that night. Tried refitting the face plate but the drive still seems to not open from time to time. Have to leave it down to game tomorrow (again) to see if they can replicate this, this time i'll have to make sure they test it in the vertical position.

You could argue the 360 is more designed to stand vertical. Mine has been standing like that since release day and has worked great all that time.

vertical from day one here. No problems at all, and no issues like you are describing

I have this problem, it seems to be when the drive hasn't been opened for a day or two that the drive wont open and would need to be pushed in a little for it to open.

I have not tried putting it horizontal yet, as it fits beter on the desk as it is.

When mines vertical it seems to crack disks !

It takes a while before the crack appears, lossed 3 games because of it !

I have it laying down now and games have been fine.

It will be going back to MS at some point.

I need mine to stand vertical as ive no room for it to sit horizontal. Hopefully the problem shows up tomorrow whwn they test it so i can get a new one.
