Ai is incredible for certain things and it is certainly brilliant at being an interior designer or landscaper.
Anyone consider replicating what it makes, for instance I gave it my currently boring flat rubbish garden.

and it gave me this to replicate. The plants alone would cost thousands fully grown but I might be able to do it over many years with seedlings or plugs.

It's a great resource for design ideas and envisioning your prompts and thoughts.

Undoubtedly. I have always wanted an amazing garden. Not denying the difficulty of the job but damn it's interesting to see stuff so realistic to incentivise you.

AI version will look for a couple weeks then degrade unless you spent 8 hours a week maintaining it

That imaginary lawn.

It would be an achievement just to get your lawn into a thick lush state. Probably starts with murdering what's already there, putting in epic soil and expensive turf. Then putting in hours of care.

With weed membrane and a while to finally defeat the weeds, it would imo be an easy garden to maintain.

The grass perhaps a different story....There are other alternatives to lawns.

With a good watering system and a robot lawnmower taking the top off every other day, I'm sure you could get a lawn like that without much ado.

I like this idea of using AI to get inspiration, I might have a dabble in it myself. I wonder if it could supply plans, planting scheme, BoMs and how to maintain the plants.

plants take way more effort than people realise

That really depends on the plants though.
Non invasive, clump forming and only growing to a certain height + spread are perfect plants that can sometimes require minimal effort to maintain.

I think anyone's garden would look a lot better if they spent 30 thousand plus on it and the stuff added to the garden is going to be in that ballpark

I showed my sister some AI mockups of the front of my house and she commented that part of it looked a little Egyptian, as she does enjoy a bit of Stargate.

I took that idea and went full send:

Anytime I go home now it’s pot luck where I might end up.

Edit: ‘Stairgate’ is not as well known as sci-fi series as it should have been

Chatgpt and I asked it to make my garden look good and add in a garage/shed down the right hand side. I even asked it to put a river in at one point. My grandious ideas of pumps and reservoirs could work, lol...

Think I'd need a lottery win for this version though.

These images can be a danger to wallets :D

Just tried ChatGPT on my garden after seeing this thread.
its weird how it keeps some of your trees etc, but makes them look about 100X better than they would ever look in rl

it;'s literally showing a fantasy that can never be achieved, you;ll never get that colour and density of foilage

it's basically a face filter for your garden
