Anyone awake? need help :(

Ok so i tryed to boot from disk and it worked but the bit when it tells you to pick a partition went wrong. I picked one and it would'nt let me at all :| So i did the IDE thing you said stuild and it got me to my desktop, did a bunch of driver installing then restarted and all seems well again. So i'll try boot from disk again for a fresh install. Man alice what a faff on!

You want AHCI ideally.

So set it back to that and try the install again.

When you get to that partition thing, I just delete them (usually 2, with one like 100MB) then click next.

Make sure you back up all your files before you go deleting partitions...

No need to backup all my games are saved within steam and origen and dont keep anything on it, pure gaming prowess.

I've played with it a bit just out of curiosity before i go ahead and do the above and omg the sound qual of that board is amazeballs!

AHCI allows trim support, but you using a mechanical hdd?

And native command queing

Edit..ide may allow trim too, its due to the operating system

Ah ok so a slight speed boost basically, cant complain at that thanks. I have done as you said stulid and its finnaly doing what its told, on with a fresh install now. Man im gonna be up all night!

What OS are you running? IDE is fine for xp,win7 you can do a reg tweak for ahci edit Nvm if your doing clean install

Just a note, it may be the same brand but it's a completely different chipset, sata controller, etc etc... It's usually if the chipset is the same you can sometimes get away without needing to do a fresh install.

All is well and running now, had a massive drama trying to get windows update to work, will make a post about it as it took forever to find the right fix.

Mate the sound is fantastic! I like to think i know good sound too (guitar player) i have'nt as of yet as i like things a bit heavy on the bass and read the other amp is a lot cleaner. However after a days gaming i'll try the other one out to tell you how it actually is
