Anyone been to the Rainforest cafe?

Can't say I have! Then again the last time I set foot into the craphole that is our Capital Maggie Thatcher was PM! :D

-s: Quite loud with all the rainforest noises in the background. When I went there they had some minimum-wage-slave dressed up as some sort of animal, which was slightly annoying as kids trailed round him.

+s: The bar stools are really cool. It's not hugely expensive. It's something to talk about.

All in all, the food was average and I did feel a bit of a Berk going in there without a kid, but it's worth doing once.

5/10

Went in May with the family and it was looking a little tired and in need of a repaint. Food was OK though and we found the staff to be cheerful and helpful. I guess it's like any venue - some find it acceptable and others would never go again. If it were Michelin starred, it would be another matter, but it's not, so you have to take a chance. I would say the same about Hardrock, Planet Hollywood and TGI's.

Enjoy your day, whatever you do

When i first went to florida i think the rainforrest cafe was pretty new and exciting... went there with the family (at this stage i was still a teen). Personally i thought it was pretty awesome.. up there with the chicago rock cafe and planet hollywood .... all do a menu like tgi's but with some fancy theme to the place

^^this.

"Poor mans TGI's" posted somewhere above.. TGI's is god awful, rubber for steaks diner trash by my standards. :/

I went to the one in San Fran it was a tourist trap and it simply wouldn't be there had it not a fresh turnover of tourists but then again 1000s of restaurants in tourist locations don't have to work on their food as tourists don't know any better.

I can't say I enjoyed it as much as the hardrock

you ppl dont like tgi's?

im obviously more common than the fine people on these forums as i would consider tgi's to be my favourite restaurant :)

It's nothing to do with common, but taste and what people perceive to be good food. :) I have quite high standards and I find TGIs to be very average and not very good cooking, it's more like an eatery rather than a restaurant for me. But hey if it's to your taste enjoy it, I just hope you allow yourself to experience better places too. :)
