Anyone bought a G0 Q6600 from OcUK recently?

Hi there,

I've finally got some new kit coming on thursday from OcUK - ordered it this evening:

4GB Crucial Ballistix 8500
Asus P5K-E
Intel Q6600 retail

I was wondering what the current Q6600s are clocking like?? I've read that some people are now having issues getting current Q6600s overclocking nicely, whereas my colleague at work has his early Q6600 from last year @ 3.0GHz on stock volts (this is all I really want to aim for (well, maybe 3.2GHz)). Anyone bought one recently?

TIA

Simon

A G0... I am running 3100MHZ on stock volts. (stock cooler too) but my P5N-E is limiting my clock (a well known problem exists with this board and Quads - new Motherboard for me I guess)

got 1 sitting here that i bought last week, cant try it out till i get my new motherboard but it will be interesting to see how it clocks.

No problems here with a recently acquired q6600, 1.375 volts in the bios on a Asus P5E X38 prime stable and running 24/7

air POWER lol antec 900 fans on medium with zalman 9700 fan at 100%

it depends what vid u have to will push it to 4ghz when i will install my water cooling kit :)

Mine will POST at 3.8 but I can't get it stable and I'm not sure how much voltage is safe for it :p

'Tis Crysis Benchmark stable at 3.7 though

When this was took, been running Prime95 on all four cores for 10 hours, as only built PC 4 days ago and this is the max stable I can get, but it's bang on and low temps so... see sig for details!

I just got one recently from OCUK with a VID of 1.2750v which is lower than my other one which ran hotter.

I have it currently clocked at 3.2(8x400) with near enough stock volts. I could probably go higher, but 3.2 is fast enough for me.

Hi pugheaven,

welcome to the forums, please make sure you read the FAQ and enjoy your stay! :)

Looks like a nice overclock there and a useful screenie, thanks for sharing although can u make them a bit more compact if possible, amazing what u can squeeze into 750 pixels width!

This isn't forum law but it means I don't have to scroll across a huge image of a desktop looking for the good bits!

I didn't get mine recently (more like 3 months ago) but it's a G0 upgraded from a B3 :)

Asus P5KC doesn't like being over 3.2GHz though so I'm fine with 3.15GHz until I need more power at which point I'll go 45!

i've just bought a Q6700, I REALLY hope the VID for it is 1.22v or lower, would be gutted with a vid of 1.32v.

My bad ;)

Anyway I've had the system for a few days; it won't POST 3GHz at stock voltage (1.325) and will POST but not boot windows at 3.3GHz with OcUK's recommended way high settings. The CPU was part of the "guaranteed to 3.3" package - which if you price it you're getting charged for a stock retail processor and the guide free.

Bit let down tbh.

Seriously?

i bought a q6600 at the start of april, running it on an IP35-E, and everything says i have a VID of 1.3250v, however i can run it at 3.2ghz prime95 stable at that voltage!

I bought a Q6600 a couple of weeks ago, VID of 1.325. Have to bump the vcore to 1.375 to get it to 3GHz stable. Can't seem to go any higher than that without big voltage increases.

Bit disappointed, but its still a great chip for the money IMO. Why everyone expects to get 1GHz+ overclocks off these chips is a bit beyond me.

Mine's now relatively stable at 3.8, though I'm keeping it at 3.2 (400x8) for everything but benching.

POST's at 4ghz now but it BSOD's half way through loading Windows :(
