Anyone bought a G0 Q6600 from OcUK recently?

excellent, stuff came this morning the quad has a a VID of 1.275 it's currently blend priming @3.6, 1.375v max load temp so far has been 50C with a mini typhoon in ma cooling cupboard lol :D

I've managed to get my B3 quad up to 3.2Ghz with my IP35 Pro (see sig) but not any higher, and even then it is fairly toasty when loaded at that speed ... can't be bothered swapping it out for a G0 though :p

As mrk says I'm also just gunna wait for some 45nm goodness later in the year :)

ive got mine goint now at 3.6 with prime n other test saying its stable but 1/10 boots the Pc reset on the vista loading screen. Im starting to think its actually a prob with vista rather than the OC ive got!

im not 100% sure its stable but running 3.2ghz at 1.375 now - tried 3.6 before and got an instant BSOD on windows startup. might try increasing the volts slightly, or might just stick with where i am now.

also there is a fairly big difference between the temps of each core:
lapcpuix7.png

at idle the temps are around 42-38-34-39.

i would lap my ultima-90i and q6600 but i am scared i will break them, and i cant afford to buy a new one if i do :( (well the CPU atleast) also might try a piece of cardboard under the bar which holds the heatsink on so it has more pressure on the CPU.

Hmm well im using a zalman cooler n my cores are idle at 32-33-32-34 so im reali happy with that.......the heatsink u use will have a big impact on the clock you can get!

lol went for a dinner came back checked the temperatures

lol the window in the room was open do so that probably effected it :D

Good stuff, keep it coming guys.

Can people please quote their FPO#'s if available (it's on the side of the box).

I'll start the ball rolling - My kit just arrived and is sitting next to me on the desk at work:

FPO# **05A256 (Google finds no results for this FPO#!!!)

Ta,

Simon

Can someone please explain what the FPO number means?

im probably going to stay at this clock now because i doubt ill get much further - also i probably wont lap it, partly out of fear of breaking it, and it isnt broke so no point fixing it :) might have some troubles with temps in the summer though and lapping it might help with that... also it would help resale value if i ever sell it :)

just for comparisson purposes... i bought my G0 Q6600 from OcUK @end of Nov last year
No screenies or FPO's just yet will sort em when i get home

but the VID i see in CoreTemp fluctuates between 1.100v & 1.200v!
Running @ 3GHz (333 x 9) @ 1.1v on an Asus P5E-VM HDMI with VDroop pencil mod :) Prime Stable 8hrs :D

this thing clocks like a demon, i crank it up to 3.8GHz when i'm doing a big encoding run :D but it runs a tad warm in my little Lian Li V300 :(
Will be nabbing myself a P180 Mini tomorrow, so should solve the cooling problems :D

Can anybody give me some good tips on spreading AS5. I did per AS's instruction for Quad but my temp is stupidly high, 38 idle, 72 load in Coretemp @ 3.2:eek: (1.375v in Bios, 1.35v in Windows) and mobo is not in case.
Basically I squeezed a small line right across the center of the CPU, I suppose it is the best way? Has anybody done it differently from their instruction and have better result? It's so frustrating as I have tried to resit the heatsink various times but it only got worse.
Cooler is Noctua NH-U12P, my board (Rampage Formula) can get to 3.6 easily but being held back by the stupid high temp. I'm using the new brackets for Rampage as the stock one wasn't compatible.

When this was took, been running Prime95 on all four cores for 10 hours, as only built PC 4 days ago and this is the max stable I can get, but it's bang on and low temps so... see sig for details!

I'm not a quad owner myself atm but just noticed that your RAM is running on wrong timings mate.

400mhz for 5-5-5-24?_?

Don't even set your ram on auto :).
Mine is running 445mhz at 4-4-4-12 . At 400 you should be able to get something like 4-3-3-10 with good ram.

OK, got it working now at stock volts (1.25v) at 3.2GHz. Call me lame, but I really don't think I need to go any faster than that for the mo. It's rock solid (under prime95), cool, quiet and what's more my 3870 isn't really asking for more.

Sweet. :)

do Ocuk still have some L7's or are they all **'s

is it even possible to still get some L7's

Can't remember the batch number, but mine's a 1.20VID. Bought from a competitor as an OEM chip end of last year.

[email protected] on my P5K Deluxe ;)
Well over 4Ghz on watercooling and ~4.4Ghz on Dry Ice (1.7v limited - check hwbot sig)

I'm still doubtful that VID's exist below 1.20 because if Speedstep and C1E are enabled, they can change them.

my Q6700 that i bought has a VID of 1.30v, havent overclocked it yet tho. They halved in price btw, q6600 = £130 ish, q6700 is £170 ish. q6700 has higher multi tho:) and slightly faster clock speed of 2.66ghz instead of 2.4ghz.

bit of a thread revival here, finally got my q6600 installed. go stepping with a vid of 1.2750. currently at stock 2.4ghz, temps per core.
core,0 31
core,1 28
core,2 24
core,3 27
using an acf7 pro cooler and as5, do theese temps look ok.

Those temps are good for the cooler that you're using but what are the load temps like? Run Orthos/Prime for a bit and see how high they go.
