Anyone bought an iPhone in the past week or so?

LOL.

You can jailbreak it, but you can only use 02 or Tesco Mobile if it's bought in the UK.

No biggy really. Contract with vodafone had finished and the new deals with O2 are better than the ones they offered me (an extra £7.50 for 120mb of data :( ), so ill get my PAC code and switch to O2

I'm so tempted to buy an Iphone and jailbreak it, but there's so many pages in the overlocking threads that it's difficult to find the right info lol...basically, if I bought an Iphone tomorrow, it would be jailbreak-able?

Yes. I did it yesterday with mine although it took some playing around with. The process I had to do was set firmware back to 1.1.1, then use an old version of iTunes (7.4) and a piece of software called iPhuc to let the phone start. From there you type in a few codes and visit the jailbreakme.com website then on the iPhone you use the newly installed installer.app to upgrade to the latest firmware.

Not overly easy if you keep all you software up to date (like me), but luckily I had a second Windows XP installation with no iTunes on it so I just used that instead.

After I did all that hard work, I had to reset it back to factory defaults (and the unmodified firmware) so I can activate the O2 sim.

Try the sticky.. it has a guide.

Most shops are still selling 1.1.2 firmware enabled iPhones, but the longer you leave it, the less chance of getting one with 1.1.2 on will go down.

Hi guys just got my iPhone today, I'm in the middle of justins guide for jailbreaking the iPhone. I just have one question before I do something. Where it says:

Step 3 (Updating to 1.1.2)

4. Now click on Update in iTunes. (Never press restore as this will erase everything you have just done to your iPhone and you will have to start again. Secondly, this will take a while as it needs to download a 180mb file)
5. Just let iTunes do its stuff and wait for it to update your iPhone.

Note: I've installed OkToPrep.

When I follow the guide to the word and I click update it will update it to 1.1.3 from 1.1.1 do I want this? Or do I option click update and install 1.1.2 firmware from ispw file?

Just want to double check incase I install the official 1.1.3 and cant get back :(
