Anyone built a machine with a J1800 or J1900?

Thanks for the link tbh looks like the Athlon 5350 is the way to go

I'm looking for an excuse to build a 5350 system myself, I love playing with new tech and the Kabini line intrigues me.

I have some spare DDR3 lying around from my last upgrade and a 120gb OCZ SSD which I bought for 40 quid or so back when OcUK were selling them off cheaply; I'm sure I could get a 5350 chip and board and a nice little ITX case and PSU to put them in for a very reasonable price. Stick a copy of Linux on it and it's good to go!

Tempted to build a Kabini system just for the hell of it, I got some spare DDR3 and and spare SSD. Do all the mobo's come with a power adaptor? I assume its 12V?

Built my AM1 system with Asrock AM1H-ITX and Amd 5350 cpu and its been very good so far better than my Fm1 build where a film would stop playing if the cpu had too much to do.
Watts about 22.5 while running 2 programmes.

Shame overclockers havent decided to stock these Boards.

I have a 5350 on a MSI AM1i. I bought it for a media PC and had a GTX 480 Lightning lying around so I figured hey, why not.

I had my step daughter here recently and she was gaming on it for a fortnight solid. Only The Sims 3 and FIFA 13 but the latter I was more than impressed with.

I have a boot SSD in mine and tbh for general TV MM duties it is absolutely fine. Even boot is fast. I've watched HD streaming content on it, again passed with flying colours.

This is a very interesting article.

I had to mod the cooler, the fan was so small it looked ridiculous :D :D

I've just built a AM1 based system, MSI AM1I Mini-ITX motherboard, 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3, Crucial MX100 256GB SSD, 3TB WD Green HD, Intel Dual port PCE-E NIC, Superflower 300W ATX PSU in a Lian-Li Q03b case.

Running ESXI 5.5 and 1 guest at the minute, idling around 25W with the HD spinning. This is just used as a file server, streaming box at the minute but that will expand with the Microsoft exams I'll be taking. The board doesn't support passthrough mode on ESXI but as this is a standalone box I'm happy with it.

I was considering a J1800/J1900 based unit but the lack of USB3 from what I can see, the price and that they are only dual core sent me down the AMD route.
