Anyone catch that top gear special?

It was fantastic. My only sore point was Hammon vs the car.

Why didn't they use a petrol car. That should have fired up at way lower temperatures. Also, surely the point that that car no longer starts is the point its defeated. Whats the point of a car otherwise.

Other than that, its was all top notch.

It was "quite dead" actually.

PetrolHeads was tripe, canned laughter and scripted.

Well, you get the idea :D

PH was not that good. I did grin one or maybe two times so its probably on par with the rest of the comedies on TV

I would like to add I hate 5th gear its just boring.

"welcome I am boring voice man and I am here today to talk to you about this sports car it has wishbone gearboxes and a gear ratio of 12.3556335:1 in first gear. I also has a......"

Top gear was brilliant, petrolheads was poor. Hamster and Phil Glenister were great, but the show was distinctly average and just seemed a ripoff of have i got news for you
The constant forced laughter from Neil Morrisey did it no favours either

I enjoyed playing the "Guess the car by a small picture" part of petrolheads :)

that was the only bit worth watching

as already said, the rest of the show was hopeless. What annoyed me so much was the apparent lack of any credibility. The whole "miles instead of points thing" was fine. but none of the cars seemed to change distance at all, and even then they had the stupid "double or quits" thing at the end meaning that none of it mattered.

why dont they just do what "whose line is it anyway" did and remove points completely if the show is just supposed to be funny.

Petrol Heads won't catch on I think.

But what I found hilarious was the joke that that bloke who plays the cop on Life On Mars or whatever it's called.

Went something like, "I let the oncoming car past, and as he went past me he shouted"Pig!" and I shouted "******!". I carried on up the road and crashed into a pig."

:D

They all seem a lot more down to earth and more normal than they used to :)
That's what I thought too. Have to make sure I watch more of the next series, only caught a few episodes last series but really enjoyed it, rather than a few years back it just irritated me.

Had me in stiches the entire time.

The only "bad" bit was the Evo vs bobsled thing - it was a good feature, but I'd seen it before so it didn't grip me as much as it did the first time round (I still want an Evo VI though!)

So many great lines, most of which have been said already in this thread, but here's another one I will add :)

May: "Speaking of Hamster"
*points Clarkson to front of Jag*
May: "Your car's had it's teeth whitened"
