This.
There would have been no traffic on the line other than "chatter" as the office was empty on Sunday and the router isn't activated on our firewall (so no outbound traffic would have been routed down it).
What the heck causes spikes like that? Line fault?
The router is a SpeedTouch 510 v6 and the line stats are:
Uptime: 5 days, 2:17:13
Modulation: G.992.1 Annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 256 / 5,280
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [KB/KB]: 0.00 / 0.00
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.0 / 19.5
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 24.5 / 41.0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 6.0 / 9.5
Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / P
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 1 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 2 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote): 0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 69,099 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 0
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 90 / 8,248
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 20 / 4,738
ISP is Eclipse.
Thanks,
Chris.
