Anyone Eaten Camel?

I've smoked a few Camel's* but would have probably enjoyed them more had I eaten them.

* Ciggys not those bloomin humped animals.

It was delicious. I was working for a few days at a place that specialised in 'bush' food...Croc, camel, kangaroo, drop bear ( ;) )...All sorts.

Had a steak one night and a massive burger with loads of fresh, tangy relish the next. Om nom nom.

Sounds like the place I went to. I'd have to dig through a box of stuff to confirm where exactly it was, but camel, croc, kangaroo were all on the menu as well as a few others (emu?).

That was seven years ago now, so I don't remember the fine details of what it tasted like, but I certainly don't remember objecting.

ive not eaten camel before. infact ive not eaten any exotic animal before... :(

i do remember hearing about some guy in england eating a corgi before. that must have had an awesome taste to it.

Never had Camel, but I would if i could. This year I have tried In Canada and Australia the following.

Frog legs, Elk, Shark, Alligator, Rattlesnake, Kangaroo, Ostrich, Buffalo and snails. Would eat em all again.... yum yum.

I imagine it's similar to goat. If it cooked slow and low temperature beautiful meat. If cooked to fast fatty and tough.

But no never had it.
Odd question, prompted by your post... why don't we eat goat (in the western world)? I've had it abroad and it tastes like lamb (mutton).... so why not chomp on it here?
