Anyone else disappointed with CS:GO?

My mate's given me a Beta code and i've just had an hour or so long go and to be honest I don't think i'll bother loading it up again. The UI looks horrible and clunky to use, options are serverly limited compared to CS:S and it just doesn't feel nice and smooth to play. This was supposedly developed with the help of 'Counter Strike pros' for competitive play but to me it feels like it's been developed for a console and then ported to the PC, honestly can't believe this is a Valve game.

Doesn't help that i'm hung over, knackered and i've only played for an hour but from 1st impressions this just hasn't impressed me. The only thing that's nice is the graphics that are improved but while they're nice I actually thought they would have been a bit more realistic, people are using computers that are more capable these days and the guns just look like skins to be honest.

I'd love to hear other people's opinions because I feel like i've wasted my mates code but I really want to try and like this.

I hate it to, it just doesn't feel like CS at all for some reason, bloody hate the dial system in place for the buy menu as well, I hoped it would be good but I don't think I will end up buying it now

giz your key :D

hoping it is great or at least decent cause bf3 isnt really a comp game like cod4 or cs and this is what im hoping a lot will play for.

been trying to get a key to get on but no dice :(

I think you'll be disappointing like me Dg. It doesn't feel competitive at all, it feels quite the opposite. The spread is so much tighter or at least that's what it feels like to me, majority of games have just been spray fests and the bullet pattern seems to be top right on most guns. Will have another go later, doubt my opinion will change though.

I've been say it since i've been in the beta last october it has steadily improved but no where near it should be for a counter strike game , I think it was a mitake letting hidden path develop it instead of valve

I'm finally playing a CS game again thanks to CS:GO so no, not disappointed, actually surprised how much the little changes and additions they made changed the gameplay. I have to say I hated the buying wheel for a while and I'm still not a fan of it but I'm used to using it now.

However, if you are expecting a carbon copy of CS 1.6. or CSS, you will be disappointed. It's a new CS game with the same basic concept but it's definitely not either one of those games.

I know very little about counterstrike, but...

It's a great game. It's not counterstrike 1.6 but it doesn't NEED to be counterstrike 1.6.

If you want to play counterstrike 1.6, play counterstrike 1.6. No counterstrike other than counterstrike 1.6 is going to be better than 1.6 at being 1.6, if you see what I mean :p

I wish they'd changed more actually. They really need to make sure they don't try to replicate 1.6 because it just. won't. work. The fact that all there is a flat out "best" weapon, for example, kind of needs to go as far as I am concerned.

It's not a console port at all. Have you seen any console ports recently? Console ports tend to have:

No FOV settings
No proper graphics settings
No dedicated servers
Poor performance
Little ability to make use of hardware
Poor graphics
No proper mouse settings

CS: GO has all of those things. It doesn't feel like a console port because it isn't made for console.

I've not really been following CS:GO, I don't really have any interest in it either.. I've played enough CS to last me a lifetime.

But I thought the main purpose of CS:GO was to cash in on the console FPS market?

Oh man, downloaded an update when I logged into Steam so I thought i'd give it another go. Now my mouse doesn't work in menus so I can't select what mode to play and what guns to buy.

Ugh.

It was hardy going to be anything great lol, dated old source engine and coming out on consoles too.. Just screems fail to me..

Will have to see when its released. Don't have high hopes for it though... 1.6 is unbeatable!

Had a few bashes at it, it's certanily different lol

The Dial menu is horrendous :( At the start of a round instead of my ususal buy key chain I now have to faff about with the bloody dial.

It also looks different style wise, I mean yes CS:S did but not to this degree, something just doesn't look right about it and I can't quite place it. It also seems for more "arcadey" than a CS game imho that and the amount of games I play now means I probably won't pick it up unless its in some special offer.

I honestly didn't know Valve had allowed some other company to Dev it, surely it's one of their biggest franchises... and they gave it away

It looks too cartoony to me.

I haven't played it but used to play both 1.6 and CSS but CS:GO just doesn't look right.

I haven't played it so can't comment on the game play itself but it just seems like Valve and flogging a dead horse with the CS franchise.

anyone with a beta key free think of meeeee :p

trying every way possible to get in and try this as i think it will be the next fps i actually try and focus and play properly . cant do it with bf3 .
