Roll out of bed, make a coffee, switch on the PC, go to your regular forum, read up, reply to anything that takes your fancy.

Then...you're not sure what to do with yourself, you browse your bookmarks, nothing new there, back to the forum, see if anyone replied to your posts, nope nothing.

You carry on browsing your bookmarks, you rack your brains for something new to look at, can't find anything. Think to yourself, I better do something.

2 hours have already past since you woke up, i've just done this and have for the last week. Probably something to do with a week off work, girlfriend abroad with her parents and no pressing responsibilities.

Thing is, if I was in my teens, i'd have no problem with it, but i'm 33 and I have a real sense of wasted time but I keep doing it

Just another day wasting my life on the net! :)

EDIT: Should point out I do this on holiday days, when i'm working lates or when the missus has gone to the gym early, almost always when I have an empty house.

I do to a degree, I wake up have my breakfast, check out the BBC site to see what's going, then ocuk and a few other forums then I get ready.

I don't check what I replied to though. I do it on my phone though and not my laptop.

Have you considered mixing the above with heavy bouts of drinking? It won't help you at all but my goodness it'll make your posts more interesting for us :)

I know what can keep you busy for 10 minutes....

Quoting in case you decide to delete. Also, this demands a link because I've managed to miss this

pretty much, but i set off for work at 11:30 so once ive been through the forums etc ill have an hour or 2 gaming

OP, having now read both threads can I ask if you have ever watched a Kevin Smith movie and decided that it was a documentary that you would then base your life around?

I get the kids off to school and sit down at 9am for a little browse around. After 3 hours have past it's lunch and time to rush around and get the house work done before missus burtie returns to kick my arse.

I do this everyday wasting time looking at **** on the internet when I should be doing the washing or some other chore. Mind you I get up at 6am and it's like world war 3 for 2 hours getting the kids ready for school I'm knackered by 9.

I'm 37 and I really need a new hobby.

I think I know where you're going with this but not having watched many of his movies, i'm not entirely sure :) Don't think you're referring to Red State :D

The thing is, I have a girlfriend of 5 years i'm engaged to, i'm in a solid job, when i'm at work i'm focused, serious, driven. I do a little extra work outside of my main job for money for the extra bits me and my missus want in life. When i'm alone, I just can't be bothered, i'm a contradiction, I just need someone/something around focusing and pushing me.

Perhaps i'm bi-polar borderline ADHD :D (I have limited understanding of those 2 conditions BTW)

Exactly the same as OP pretty much! I've got a set group of sites that I browse pretty much throughout the day and I find myself flicking between them and wondering if there's any new content.

Sad thing is, I quite often go to ocUK, realise there's no new replies/posts, then I look through my favourites and think "ohh yes, ocUK, not checked there yet"

I don't feel too bad, unless I look at the time and realise I've spent the entire morning randomly browsing...... nothing! :'(

You need to become at one with your inner peace. You're searching for interaction when left alone.....your brain is starving to death......feed it......don't tease it :)
