I don't know what it is about Social Media but it brings me out in visual dyslexia , i don't know how people stay on top of conversations as it's truncated and scattered?

If Visually cluttered is effectively full of meaningless crap you can’t make head nor tail of then yes. :D

I even find discourse and the new reddit unpleasant to look at , maybe i'm just too used to the old layout of Vbulletin style forums.

Yes. It's not designed for information transfer. It's designed for stimulus response. New message = Dopamine.

In the old model the joy would be in content of the message itself but the value of most messages today is so low they have to make up in volume.

And if it's Twitter - well, the higher the message throughput, the more things you can retweet in order to express your outrage / virtue signal.

You're not meant to be thinking about each message!

I recently un-liked every page on Facebook so that I just see friends posts. Pretty good thing to do to be honest.

You just go to a page which displays all your likes and run a bit of javascript and it goes through clicking unlike on them all :)
Just wait until they start coming back without you re-liking them...
Then you delete your profile and make a new one, and it still comes back...
Then you delete your profile and don't make a new one, do a bunch of stuff online, and at a later date make a new one, all the stuff you did while you didn't have a profile was tracked.
So yea... the only way to have privacy on facebook is if they go out of business.

I need to know the answer to the OP's question as well.

I go to FB > Home and it shows a combination of everyone's FB pages. That's pages of friends and family, plus any groups and 'liked' pages that I'm a member of. What confuses me is that they're not in chronological order and sometimes I see the same post 2 or 3 time in a single scrolling session. I would prefer it if it was like YouTube subscriptions where everything is in order, and then anything that I have read or watched will show a different hyperlink colour to say that I've already seen it.

2nd question is how do you add 'liked' pages to the left hand side shortcuts? I can add groups there, but it seems idiotic that I can't add the liked pages there as there seems to be very little difference between a group and a liked page. In order to go to my liked pages, I have to go to my own page, then go to 'about' then I have to scroll down several pages until I find my liked section.
