I just find it funny how much Apple is copied and imitated nowadays by the media and manufacturers alike.

I'm actually thinking the top picture of the MBA is a bit of a mis-representation of how thin it is. The top and bottom images look like two different cases.

It's a total misrepresentation. The reflection has been made to look as though it's a few millimetres thin.

It's a real shame when it happens because it only ever plays into Apple's hands. Plus that thing's an Advent, and has a Celeron in it, so I'd never go near it.

There's great design from both sides of the camp, the manufacturers you normally see copying Apple are the ones who don't understand that product design is more than just how something looks.

Samsung are the only company IMO which holds there own design, there monitors are out of this world stunning, far better than Apples...

lol...doubt that very much...

Have you even seen the Apple LED Display in person, it is pure filth! Samsung monitors are cheap and nasty in comparison. The picture quality is outstanding on the Apple also.

Look at that thing ^^^ It's hideous. Why would i want a monitor that looks like my TV on my desk? My 2007WFP is soooo much nicer.

Did you just compare a £600 monitor to one costing less than a third of that and then say it looks cheap? I don't particularly like Samsung's move away from making things functional to filling them with curves, but Dell aren't exactly pushing boundaries either.

From a design point of view i think the Dell 2007WFP and now 2009WFP have got the design spot on, it annoyed me when they got rid of the nice stand.

The amount of chin the Samsung has is a big turn off for me. Lets face it though Samsung isn't exactly an expensive brand. I do realise Apple use their panels in their displays but i just really don't like the design on the desktop range of Samsung's monitors.

When i saw that LED display in person i nearly bought it there and then it even though i had never considered it before. It was that nice.

Last i checked companies like sony had thin laptops out long before apple did. Im not even sure if that one you linked to in the first pic is made of aluminium, it just says "silver finish" so its possible its still a plastic shell.

I'm not talking about just the overall look, i'm talking about how the ad is laid out and how Apple is imitated by even their advertising style.

The Advent is so much nicer looking.

'Thin' laptops have been around for years though, long before Apple came out with the MBA.
