Anyone else finding that chrome is slow

Do you have an SSD?
Which extensions do you use?

I use Canary Chrome, has been 64bit for a while now, SUPER fast

Vanilla Chrome here, can't say I've noticed any slow-downs. Click a page, page loads, pretty much straight away.

Not even on fibre, just plain old ADSL2.

Get an SSD as bledd suggested - makes an amazing difference to everything.

No, but my PC pretty much locks up when a download completes..

Can't CTRL + ALT + DEL or anything.. Have to wait for it to finish it's thing.. Like 30 seconds or so.

What AV software?

Sounds like it's scanning after download.

Get an SSD for it, no pc should be without one.

Chrome has too many little problems here and there. Like when I go back a page it doesn't always scroll to the point at which I went forward, I have to scroll again from the top.

Also when watching a video on the Daily Mail site it always crashes when you get to the end of a video.

When Windows 9 comes out I'll switch to Firefox for my main browser.

Odd, doesn't do this for me

That's Chrome crying because you made it visit that horrific comedy site. Silly boy :p

Mine use to do that, also often missed the last 1-2 seconds of every video. Turns out by default, theres 2 flash players built in, one experimental and one stable, you need to disable the Pepper Flash one and it sorted my issues out.

Link to video to show you how, takes 10 secs = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLZg0jnfyYA

Chrome is annoying the hell out of me at the mo, on Beta 38.

Downloads sometimes never start - just hangs, and files refuse to download. I am unable to download any files until force-closing the browser and restarting it.

Also sometimes a process remains in taskman after I close the browser. I am unable to re-open the browser until I force close this process.

Super annoying... will switch to Canary for a while and see if they sorted it.

[edit] Same issue in Canary 39...
