I've just been on the phone to Three getting a replacement sim to put in my new phone, as the old sim is too big. After that was done he puts me through to his colleague who starts going on about contracts (I'm on a pay as you go).

I sit listening to the guy explaining the first contract and I said I'm not interested in being tied to a contract. He keeps saying he has to tell me about all these contracts. In the end I put the phone down after 10 minutes of him not listening to me.

I suspect this is because I'm on PAYG. Does any other PAYG'ers get this hassle when they have to contact their network?

I get this with them all the time and I am on a contract. They try to sell me another contract with another phone.

With the raise of people buying phones outright, keeping their old phones longer than 3 years with an sim only. They are all pushing ways to extract more money out of you.

Yes.

Signed up to a £20 contract in store. Told the £25 was best. Tried to sell it to me. I rejected.

Que bunch of crap goes on, blah blah... kept waiting ages.

I become annoyed and just tell the girl I'd like to leave it.

Within moments I get the paperwork.

I sign in a rush, get my sim and leave.

Next thing I know, I get a bill for £25.. I thought, ah yes, this will be £5 extra due to the added week I used.

I had an inkling anyway, so checked the paperwork. Turns out I signed up for the £25 tariff.. the cow pulled a fast one on me.

I would have gone back and complained.

I doubt much would come of that, they would just stand behind the fact that you read/signed the paperwork.

All the more reason to shop online, no dealing with salespeople then. :D

I always get contracts with Topcashback attached to them, makes a nice saving......and no dealing with salespeople too lol
