Anyone else getting bored of gaming?

Only new 'big game' i've bought/played this year is portal 2. I've had saints row 2 and just cause 2 installed and ready to go since last year but just not felt like it. I have played amnesia and got quite into revenge of the titans but that's about it, hard to justify having a gaming pc really. All the 360 has done this year is stream stuff from the computer.

I always seem to be searching for the best game ever for my playstyle. Found some amazing games but still have that thirst!

I'm actually getting more into gaming it seems as I get older, I'm 24 now and play games a lot more now than when I was 21. Bought so many games this year, also will be purchasing a capture card soon.

I have just become incredibly selective. Any title that I consider mediocre does not get a look in.

That's the thing, I've always been selective, but now even the a-list titles, are not getting a viewing. At home I have games such as Red Dead Redemption, Little Big Planet, Metal Gear Solid, GT5, Uncharted 2, Blk Ops all big titles I'm sure you'll agree, yet I've barely broken past the 1st level. Also bought a Kinect and a PS Move this xmas, in the hope I'd get going again and ended up selling them after 3-4months, cos they just gathered dust.

Not always the case though.. for example, I played Halo Reach from start to finish and REALLY enjoyed it. Also recently purchased BF Vietnam on the PC and have enjoyed that too. So i do occasionally get into the game. But they are few and far between.

Yes I'm a tad bored at the mo. Downloaded the duke nukem demo, got half way through the second level and deleted it - POS. Downloaded the dugeon siege 3 demo, was bored after 5 minutes, deleted. Downloading the red faction and castlevania demos next to see if they fare any better.

Think I need to tap up my nephew for something new to play - the only game I really feel like playing at the moment is BLOPS online. Really cant wait for Gears 3 and MW3!

Considering 99% of stuff is online FPS shooters where internet connection gets you kills. Moving house and going from a 18meg connection to a 6meg connection has pretty much killed my gaming. I only really play the big release single player games now. The missus is happy that I don't play my games as much but is now annoyed that I am spending a lot of time on my car. You can never win with women!!!!

I wish they brought out final fantasy x for the ps3 just updated + maybe some added content trophies etc. I would gladly pay full price for that.

I think im getting bored of FPS games, seems a new one every week and I keep buying them.

I think Im gonna quit fps gaming especially online until BF3..so I will be refreshed and hyped up badly for it adn enjoy it much more so

I still don't see why people obsess so much over the 'Next Generation' of consoles. We have some fantastic games on consoles, the best they've ever been.

Realistically 'next gen' is going to give us nothing much more than slightly better graphics.

We are way past the days of the huge leaps between 8-bit > 16-bit > 32-bit etc....
They offered huge advances in the newer generation, but those days are gone.

Our current generation of consoles does good graphics and has great multimedia features, tv, film rentals, internet, online gaming etc...

Next Generation offers very little at the moment and I don't see how a shift to it will make games any better than they are right now.

The Last games that got my full attention was proberly Red dead and Heavy Rain since then everything has been 5 minute wonders for me!

Until Battlefield 3 is released i think it will stay like that:(

What kills it for me is the stupid notion that they have all the BIG releases in November, what the hell is with that...surly with a mountain of huge profile sequels set for Nov time, a few of them would have the thought of breaking out early and releasing some summer goodness.

yeah , but they all want them released then because i suppose with Christmas round the corner.

don't see what difference it makes though if someone wants a top game there going to buy it anytime of the year

Yes I understand the Christmas thing, but as you say, if BF3 say came out with the same big as campiagn over the summer leading to the game, would it not sell jsut as well?

yeah I would think so , best time to release that sort of game really with all the summer holidays and all.

Definatley try playing old games. I'm playing through the Tony Hawks Pro Skater series on the PS1 and it's so much better than most of todays games. I've just finished FFX and I'm playing Gran Turismo 4 aswell.

Todays games are mostly crap in comparison.
