Anyone else getting bored of gaming?

Never, ever, ever.

The only thing I get is brain lock when trying to decide which game to play. Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2, PSX, Gamecube, Wii, gaming PC, laptop all with a range of various games I haven't finished or even started yet. Sometimes I just don't know what to choose and just sit there frozen in silent overload.

The day I get bored of gaming is the day I take up auto-erotic asphyxiation and go out like David Carradine.

So you like gaming, huh :D

I haven't felt like playing in months and every time I have I just quit after 10 minutes.
Now I've been without for almost a month and I will be for some time to come and I soooo want to play something.

Reading what I just wrote, how sad :(

The majority of current games don't do much for me these days, but the odd few that hark back to the simpler, more gameplay heavy times meet my gaming needs. Rez HD and Child of Eden, Zelda OoT, Mario Galaxy, Sin and Punishment 2. Zelda on the 3DS in particular craps from a massive height over the vast majority of what we get these days and is a nice remidner that games didn't used to hold our hand from start to finish and bog us down with needless cutscenes. You know what the problem is? Game are trying to be movies these days - everything has to be cinematic. I prefer games that try to be games.

I gave up console gaming for sometime, just thought I'd grew out of it. Then I got a PS3 for a media centre and blu-ray player, with the option of having a game etc in case I fancied it.

Have to admit, I'm eally enjoying it for having a game or two. There's loads titles I;ve not played which are very cheap (2 for £20 etc) and for me it's one of the best purchases I've made in a long time.

Was bored of gaming, for years, not anymore :]

not necessarilly getting bored with gaming, however the lack of variety is getting frustrating.

we get the same sports, racing, adventure and FPS games on a yearly basis. Very few risks are being taken by developers as the costs of development are so high.

+1 this alone is what is killing off gaming, same old crap just a different day

You can't really expect fresh games to keep coming out every year, video games have been out for over 40 years now? At some point they're going to run out of ideas for video games and they will start to become less unique and different.

That's probably why they're bringing out more interactive hardware for consoles like the Kinect and Move.

I go off it every so often, would like to see some real progress in graphics again, consoles have held back this generation, its time they introduced basic ray tracing to get things moving again.

I guess it all depends on whether you were avid in the first place and what game genres you like to play. If you're just someone who buys the next copy of FIFA or Call of Derpy and just stick to mainstream games then I'd imagine you'd get bored of the same old over again.

Personally I don't play much games either and I think it just comes with age or the fact you've been doing to for a long time. The only thing I play at the minute is TF2. There aren't really any new games that get me overly excited.

However, sometimes I do find a few gems that I would never have thought of playing before. I remember getting Red Faction: Guerrilla with Metro 2033 but had no intention of playing it. Then one day when I had nothing to do I installed it and ended up playing it well into the night as I just found it so much fun. Was probably because of the unique destruction physics the game has.
