Mmmhmmm. You put your phone number on the interweb and you think you'll get less cold calls.
I worked in a cold calling office for Anglian which sells plastic crap for doors, windows, guttery things... for about 10 hours. Possibly the most **** job imaginable in an office.
You get a book of numbers and names which they buy from somewhere and you trawl through em page by page ticking them off as you go.
There's a script of several pages which you go through for everyone that replies.
Half the time there's no reply, most of the time you just get a not interested and the rest of the time you get personal abuse thrown at you.
The whole scheme was to get appointments booked for salespeople to be sent round for a one on one hard sell to any mug who said yes.
I think it got perhaps 5-10 appointments a day from a small office of perhaps 10 people?
Went past the place the other day, closed now
I can't be bothered abusing people cold calling. I know they're doing it as a job, you actually want to abuse the managers in charge of the operation but you don't get to talk to them.
In theory if you ask them to delete your name and number from their books they will.
Anyways. Robot callers should be hunted down and smashed into small pieces for the good of the community.
