Yep, as title says. I have been to every suitable shop in the local shopping centre, and as of yet no luck. I have an application form from Greggs which I'm going to send off tomorrow, but that's about it.

I was going to look into possibly doing bar work...not sure though.

Ditto. It sucks  . I need dough but everywhere I go they've just hired. It's really really frustrating. I done work experience in Woolworths and left my C.V should anything come up. Last week they had a job but gave it to someone who doesn't have experience with them :(

i struggled immensly to get a job after my GCSE's in the end i ended up at matalan as they were recruiting and needed lots of staff, i find that unless they are advertising for jobs its difficult to get one

agency work is the a lot will be able to get you started within days. Then it allows you time to get the normall applications in..

I applied for about 10 different places last year and got nowhere.

However this year I used a recruitment company and they found me my current job for the summer extremely quickly. However they do take a bit out of my wages.

Whappers

There was an article in the Daily Telegraph t'other day which was full of statistics about Polish immigration and students struggling to find work. Apparently they're the reason why job finding is harder than ever for current students.

Cat plus pigeons, etc.

No i walked into an agency came out 5 mins later with a 6 week gardening contract and lots of catering shifts! Not hard :p.

I applied before the end of my GCSE's, working in Asda now  I think £5.30 an hour for a 16 year old is good

Temp agencies 4tw!

Reed are v. good for that.

Alternatively, just keep on looking. The problem is, some employers are reluctant to employ temp workers for the summer, some employers want people who are in it for the long haul.
