Up to a month ago I'd never tried an olive.. Since though I can't seem to get enough of em! Anyone got any tips on a great tasting olive? And where from?

I really like the waitrose brand olives stuffed with jalapeno and garlic. :D

Discovered olives around three months ago and like yourself have been addicted ever since .
No real preference on brand although i got some green olives with herbs from morrisons that are real good :)

I like all of them but prefer kalamata olives, the dark purple ones.

I also recently tried very fresh olives, they we an awesome vibrant green with a very fresh taste but they don't come away from the stones very easily.

I tend to prefer the kalamata-style olives too, at least when you buy from a store. I really need to find a source for decent olives. Platter in Chorlton serve lots of very nice food, including awesome olives. I might ask about them next time I'm in there.

Used to hate olives, now I love them. Lots of garlic and a bit of spice, Pimiento stuffed does it for me. Hate it when they are soaked in oil.

Used to like the ones they did in Nandos until they stuck a load of filthy mushrooms in it.

According to Jamie Oliver you should only use the ones that still have the stone in them. Removing it makes them rubbery

There are plenty of very nice olives available that are de-stoned. Don't let some tv chef force you to only eat more awkward versions of a food due to food snobbery.

(I say this as a complete food snob :p)

I've had ones from restaurants that taste twice as good as shop bought ones. I don't know how they do it??? Soak them first?

Having said that the piri piri ones from ASDA deli counter are pretty good.

LOVE THEM!!

I often buy them 'fresh' from the supermarket. I'm currently into Tescos garlic stuffed / in garlic dressing olives :)

Never used to like them. Tried them again recently. Still don't like them.

Maybe I've just been unlucky.

Adore olives. Be sure, if bought refrigerated, to let them warm up at room temperature for a while to get more flavour. Also a big fan of grissini dipped in olive tapenade. My favourite munchies with a nice glass of white.

Another olive lover! Can't get enough of them :) Prefer the non-fake blacks over greens if I'm being fussy but will eat either.
