Anyone else here suffer a case of man-boobs

Except that would build muscle under the tissue and push them out further ;)

Full body workouts for a few months to see how your body fills/tightens, and if it's still an issue, go to the doctor like Benny said.

That's not right on two accounts:

Building muscle will help (in conjunction with controlled fat loss) as the pectorial muscle will be higher up vertically than the fat, and will reduce the 'boob' image.

Secondly, we are talking exercise over the course of at least a year, not months.

Pics would be brave and helpful. Chances are you're skinny fat, so defiantly get to the gym to build the muscle and lose the fat - Losing fat at that weight wouldn't do you any justice I wouldn't think (but again... hard to tell without pics).

A quick squeeze will show if gyno or not, a doc should feel it easy. As there's no referral we can guess that it's not gyno.
So, you aren't huge, which means you are probably what's known as 'skinny fat', get into the gym, eat clean and wary your body change :)

I didn't say building muscle wouldn't help, I said not to focus only on chest exercises, I didn't make that completely clear mind :o

70kg at 5'11 is surely underweight, three months doing stronglifts will change him enough to see if it's gyno or not imo

Ah I see, thanks for clearing up the misunderstanding.

From my experience, unless you are brutally strict with your bulking and cutting, it will still take an ice age to make a difference because you will still gain muscle and fat in proportion to everything else. Therefore it is only if you are nazi-esque with gaining muscle and losing fat (dramatically improving your overall physique) will you notice any huge improvements.

It could be worse, at least they aren't like these!

If they are, sorry.

Good point re: the referral - hadn't thought of that, but docs don't always get it right. Good point re: squeeze.

I agree that he just needs to sort his diet out, and drop some bodyfat and maybe build muscle - but that's not necessary as not everyone's interested in the gym. Which is good as it means they get busier :p

I had Moobs when I was younger and they left me when I hit around 18 - 25 but they have came back since I have reached my late twenties. Alcohol seems to be an issue as it does something to a mans Hormone levels. Of course in true 'general discussion' style people take the hand, despite the fact it can be a seriously cripplingly factor in peoples lives much like depression so I would suggest that the wisecracks stop now. It can really destroy a blokes mind. Silly comments from GD peeps don't help im sure. I really don't care so post something constructive ;)

It's a crippling thing, much like depression. It can effectively destroy someones life and the NHS will only refer you to a private surgeon @ 3K + Horrible thing to happen to anyone.

Serious Thread btw.

Anyways I'm now 21, I weigh 70kg at a height of 188cm, I jog everyday and started gym 4 weeks ago going 5 times a week. Now don't go overboard I don't have a serious man-boob problem, I went to see my doctor about it and asked if anything could be done (i.e surgery), he had a look and replied 'that's normal' so he wouldn't refer me. I seem to have extra tissue in my nipple area which causes my nipples to point out at least that's what I've been told by the doctor. This has stopped me from swimming since I was very young and I've never had a girlfriend. You'll never see me wear shirts because that's when it is most noticeable and it really puts me off. I'm quite often told I am very handsome but very hard to approach and that I should be more confident, how can I with this? Now what if I had a gf and she wanted to go somewhere sunny like spain near the beach, that would kill me LOL just thinking about taking my clothes of lol. So anyone else here suffer from the above? Don't be afraid now :D.

Am I just being ridiculous?

Of course your're not being ridiculous. Posting about your male norks in GD is obvioulsy the right course of action.

188cm and only 70kg, you must blow over in the wind. Get a grip.
