Anyone else here waiting for the 5870x2 (5970) to be released ??

Well, I am hoping that the x2 will fit in my Thermaltake case. I reckon I have 13.5" to play with [as it were :>}]

I am waiting on the price and performance ratio first til I decide on getting the X2 or 5970 as they are now known as...but £500 could be well spent...we'll ;)

Yeah, I'm waiting for the x2 variant. My system can't support two dual-slot graphics cards without losing all the PCI slots, of which I need one for my soundcard. I could upgrade my soundcard to a Firewire model but that would set me back about £400 (and my current one cost me £350) - I'd much rather just wait for the x2 version. I was hoping it would be less than £400 but I'm expecting up to £550. My GPU is the weakest component at the moment, so I'm really hoping they bring out the 5870x2 sometime soon. Most games run decently at the moment but there's definitely room for improvement, especially now I've upgraded to a 24" monitor (1920x1200).

Also waiting for the 5870x2 here as well. Not a lot of point going with a single 5870, when i already have a 4870x2. Plus i'm in no rush, so i'm prepared to play the waiting game if i have to.

I'm waiting have had to resist the urge of the 5870, do have room for two of them on my board, but prefer the single card solution (even if it is slightly slower), dont think my 4870x2 is exactly struggling at the moment.
Just hope my 4ghz Q9650 has the power to run it, as I have been putting off getting a Core i7 as my P5E is all watercooled and I dont really want to mess with it, plus the all the blocks cost enough so want to get my monies worth out of it.

I'm waiting for the 5970, I currently have crossfire 4870s and that works out about as fast as a single 5870, so I'd want signficiantly more power than a single 5870 to make an upgrade worth it. Currently 5870 crossfire would be about £620 (assuming theres any cards actually available) so thats a lot of money to drop on a GPU system. I'm hoping a 5970 will be in the £500 range and with flogging my 2 4870s for about £100 that should make the upgrade around £400

I could be way off though, who knows :)

I'm watching to see how much but if the trend is like previous, x2's and it fits in my case,

only got 27 cm's unless i get the dremel out. (yes i know 28cm's for a 5870)

my Ultra is been good to me so i'm waiting patiently
