Anyone else just plain annoyed that BF4 exists?

BF2 was the best for me - really set the modern warfare genre going. I loved BF3 and prefer BF4. But the ranking system in BF2 was much better and more difficult - i.e it could take weeks or months to unlock some of the higher tier guns. I don't like the fact that BF4 unlocks can be had in a few rounds only...

I was but with the 2142 Titan style game mode coming I can see me starting to get back into it again

BF3/4 are truly awful: still stuck at 64-players, tiny battlefields, no commander on the ground, dumbed-down elements such as vehicle and knife mechanics .

No offense but if you or anyone else bought BF4 after trying the free beta then you deserve to be mugged hard.
The beta told you literally everything you needed to know about the game - it was buggy as hell and literally got worse than better it seems.
The only winner here is EA.
Its crazy that BC2 is STILL the best post BF2 game, and at the time a lot of people thought it sucked!

No. It's much more fun than BF3. I do miss the old playing style of BF2 and 2142 though, but I don't think that could ever be brought back successfully.

Not really. The franchise doesn't really interest me besides the second and Bad Company 2 which I got recently, I'm sure tons of people are really enjoying the game at the minute, wouldn't be fair to take that away from them due to stringent personal views.
It's funny how people look back at bad company 2 fondly. I only remember the amount of #### people gave it such as "console bf" and "nothing on BF2".
Dare I say in 3-4 years time, everyone will look back at BF4 and sing it's praises

Well this is why they can and do release games in the state that they are. People will still pay their monies.
loved bf2 played bc2 a bit wanted to love bf3 but the net code never made sense. Wont waste money on bf4, it looks sounds the same as bf3.
I loved the bf3 sniping but the rest of the gun play i found a random lag crap shoot.
Its sad that BF3s best success arguably came from mimicking the other terribad FPS series COD.
IMHO both games are stale now...

Probably but that just means games are getting progressively worse.
I still play bf2 regularly on 64 man servers and it puts all other bf games that came after it to shame .Its a proper pc game with a steep learning curve and takes months if not year to reach top rank . Been playing since 2006 abd will still be playing untill they switch off the servers .Legendary game and up there with the very best . Will the bf3/4 servers still be going in 8 years ?

In a good way. I decided not to worry about BF4 issues and just have some fun with my TS friends and chill out in the game. As a result I came first with a 19/1 k/d ratio! I played the game like an arcade game, discovered some new things I didn't know and had one of the best rounds in my life.
BF3 was a bit meh for me as I didn't have a clan and used to tag along with a European clan called DUNITED who only played HC SQDM semi competitively, they are great guys but they all speak another language as well as English, so if there were just 5 of them on and me I couldn't understand them.
I invite everyone to the OCUK TS, everyone welcome, it adds so much to the game!

Bf1942 great. Air power was daft.
BF:Vietnam brilliant infantry mechanics. May-polling helis were dumb.
BF2 was great but it needed a lot of patches to get there. Macro dolphin diving could be a game killer.
BF2142 by far the most fun in a BF game. Loved killing people with the pods
BF:BC2 was a watered down BF but as a standalone game was good fun. The only BF game that really got rush maps right.
BF3/bf4 should have been one release once they were ready. Enjoyed both with mates but they should have been better.
Most of all with BF games if you don't have people to jump on with and try solo all the time you will probably hate it.
