Anyone else like it when...

Just a tad harsh slating someone's personality on the basis of a youtube video. It's much harder to speak into a camera especially when trying to be professional about it.

Not if you have natural charisma. Which she clearly does not.

If you are an outgoing, happy, friendly person then this will come accross on camera with very little effort.

Whereas she comes accross as having the personality of a lettuce.

You should do a video of reviewing a product then and showing us your natural charisma or are you not a happy, outgoing, friendly person?

So because someone can't speak on camera very well they have no personality?

Congrats on that theory. Some of the funniest people I know are very quiet and down to earth.

This is GD though and it's into the early hours of Saturday so you may be drunk. Or do you just like belittling women?

I never claimed to be. Which is why I DON'T make youtube vids.....

Some of my best friends are professional actors though, which is where my opinion comes from.

Charisma is only important if you want to be entertained. If you want to be informed it plays less of a role.

Well yes. It's important for engaging your audience.

If you are a visitor seeking out specific information it is a lot less important, but if you are in front of the camera and actively attempting to reel in an audience for your videos then it is VERY important.

Professional acting and making a review on camera is completely different. Acting you try to sell yourself/character. Reviews are for helping to sell the product/give advice which she does well.

The best teachers have charisma. It's an incredibly important interpersonal skill and suggesting that it's not important if you want to become informed is nonsense.

Stephen Hawking has no charisma and I can sit and be informed by his robotic voice for hours.

Perhaps it's the word "charisma" that's making me rebel against it. It conjures up images of perfect white teeth, slicked back hair, year round tan and false promises. "Engaging" would be a better word. I can see that if someone was engaging and informed rather than just informed they'd have more success.

Elaborate, you can't tell me he charms and attracts a listener. His voice does not change, there is no excitement or anything when he speaks.
Yes, I can. He's witty, he's sharp, he gives insight into things in a way that lends to understanding. He's charming, the way he says things attracts you to listen.

That is complete bs. He only ever says things in the same monotone robot voice for gods sake.
