With the next gen consoles on the horizon, it dawned on me today just how little I actually used my PS3 and 360 since buying them 4 or 5 years ago.

Seems a shame really that I forked out all the money for them but they just didnt 'satisfy' me enough. Yes, I did get my gaming kicks elsewhere but I dont want to start a flame war between PC's and consoles.

All Im saying is personally I didnt get much use out of the consoles, not as much as I would have liked to. I mainly bought the console exclusives but Im ashamed to say I havent completed a single one.

Yet, Im looking forward to the next gen consoles! Maybe theres something wrong with me, I dunno.

Anyone else the same?

Think you're spoiled by pc gaming, I have a ps3 but don't go on it because the image quality and smoothness is so poor compared to pc.

If the games are native 1080p they look good like gran turismo 5, but if theyre not they look pretty ropey.

Apart from the odd blast on GT5 I've not used my PS3 much in the past 4-5 years at all until GTA V came out. But I do struggle with the jaggies and very low FPS.

Slightly off topic, is Gran Turismo 5 actually 1080p ingame all the time? Or only in certain modes like photo mode?

Yep i neglected my PS3 for a lot of the gen. I started off playing it quite a lot in the first year or two, then i kinda got bored of gaming, and when i did rarely play a game it was generally on PC. I only really got into gaming again this year, I signed up for PS+ and played through a lot of the games i missed over the last few years, I think i've made up for it now. Now im just really hyped for next gen :)

Easily put over 2000 hours into my 360. Great machine for around £300 launch price (unfortunately they had build quality issues but hey!)

when I first got both I used to put so many hours into them and completed a lot of the exclusives but havent really touched either of them properly in a while. I do have a few ps3 games that I want to play when I have time in the next few weeks but my 360 not so much. Dont even get me started on the 70+ games I have for my pc that I bought cheap in the steam sales that I have bearly touched

I've only used my PS3 / Xbox 360 for the exclusives and specific games (such as fable - as I prefer it on the console on my telly), apart from that I game mainly on my PC as I play mainly FPS games.

However come next gen I fell I'll be moving away from pc gaming as I'm not playing as long any more and prefer pick up and play games on the console.

I tend to go through spells of playing my ps3 and not playing my pc and vise versa, the xbox has been in a bag in the cupboard since about a week after halo 4

Have my pc upstairs now ive moved out from home and i find less and less time to go up and play on it :( which is a shame, im hoping eventually ps4 will support more native 1080p to help bridge the gap a bit

I have hardly used mine since I bought it years ago. The only thing I use it for now is streaming stuff from my PC over the network to watch on TV. And the occasional DVD for the little fella to watch. That said, I bought GTA V a week ago but that's probably the first game I've played on it since perhaps Alan Wake came out. Which is a while ago.

I'd brought a PS3 when the 80gb version came out and a slim one when that came out for the bedroom, why am I posting in here then? Cos I've hardly used them.

I used to use them more as a media center than gaming devices and it wasn't until recently I actually finished a few game. I do have a large-ish retro games collection and I pot around playing them instead. Games are just to big for me to dedicate the time it takes to play them; I loose interest or forget how to play the game as its large period of times when I don't play.

I have been playing it more now as the PS3 is coming to its hayday and some amazing games are out or soon to be out for it.

They made a PS THREE??!!:D

I have a PS2 that I was given, because the owner had upgraded. Played about 15 minutes on each game that was included in the donation and that was it. I managed almost an hour on one of the racing games, but only because the dog was sleeping on my lap and I didn't want to disturb her.

I've never liked the controllers anyway and getting into PC gaming utterly cemented my hatred of consoles.

So yeah, PS2 available for anyone who wants it...!

The opposite am playing nothing but the ps3 with psn+ free games am burned out with pc's now, bf4 just looks like bf3.1 to me and arma 3 was a letdown.

Am starting to appreciate japanese made games again where the emphasis is on enjoyable deep sometimes weird gameplay rather than lots of bloom and anti aliasing.

i Mainly play on PC Because the games are a fair bit cheaper and downloading them is such a pleasure because it means i don't have to interact with other humans.

I play my Xbox a fair bit, mainly because my friends use consoles and games like fifa never seem to make sense to me when they are on PC. But i mainly use it for multiplayer ones.

Used to use it a lot more though...

I was thinking the same. My console usage died soon after I stopped playing COD4, should probably sell it before the price drops more...
