I and a couple of mates were having the "pub-discussion" about this not so long back. You would have thought there would have been some sort of legislation in place to stop this. Headlamps are getting brighter and even DRL's can be pretty bright, all of which makes it more difficult to spot the turn signal. Imo, the indicator should be separated from the headlamps and sod the design aesthetics. Apart from placement some indicators are tiny. Progess eh!!!
The moving strip indicators that are appearing on Audi's are quite effective (on the rear anyway)
