Going to be a nice sunny day and I love bootfairs! :)

My best bargain has to be a mobo and XP2200+ for £4. :D

Bloke had fitted a new HSF and the PC had stopped working.

His "knowledgeable" computer friend had told him that he had blown the CPU and mobo.

Basically I bought the mobo and he threw in the CPU as he was going to bin it anyway.

Took it home and sure enough, he had sliced 3 tracks near the cpu where he had slipped with a screwdriver. ;)

30 minutes soldering some of the smallest tracks I have ever had to repair and all was working again. :D

I like bootfairs for any sort of stuff though, can't beat the feeling of walking back to the car with a bargain! :D

I like the idea of buying a little something like that, then spending an hour or so just fixing it up :).

I got my LP player from a car boot sale for £1 :D that was a bargain.

May have to see where the closest one is to me and pop on down there! :D

Yep, its a real buzz isnt it? :)

Nice to know you have saved a good bit of kit from the scrapheap just with a bit of knowledge and patience. :)

wife is wanting to head off to a local one, its pretty big so tho pushing the buggy over the field will be annoying :/

just got back from one, pci 5200 (£50 on overclockers) got it for £2 off a guy with tonnes of old stuff, more importantly IT WORKS :D

My parents always go every Saturday to buy loads of books that they sell on ebay. Doesn't make a huge deal but enough for the odd takeaway etc and it all adds up :)

Nice deal there mate!

I got some stuff for my kid including a cheap digicam/ videocam thet doubles as a web cam. With batteries and little tripod, unopened for a £1.

Got some other bits too, people were basically giving the stuff away as it rained all morning.

I felt really sorry for them, but it resulted in some bargains. :)

used to go to one every week in hanley, never saw any hardware related bargains. Used to go to get cheap dreamcast games and old pc games

wanna start doing this buying stuff to sell on ebay could be little bit of money in it.. :)

always get to the car boot on a sunday morning its great how the value of things change from week to week on ebay so i try and find these things
eg at the moment you can pick up torvill and dean video for 50p to a pound but get maybe £15 back due to dancing on ice, dark tower books sell well and darran shan stuff.
dvd wise i look for things like west wing box sets and the lotr dvds with the collectable figure.
