Was looking for information on what cooler you were using, voltage and temps.

Trying to guage mine to others.

Idle is around 55°c... 1.4875V... Runs stable 24/7 through heavy gaming and transcoding video.

3.6GHz here on 1.5v.

Idle temp around 30-35C at the moment (no speedstep). Did a prime95 run a while ago during the heatwave, never exceeded 68C. Now is no higher than 62-64C in prime.

Cooling is Thermalright Silver Arrow, plus CoolerMaster 690 II Advanced with all fan spots filled.

Hmmm... I'm doing something wrong.

I have the exact same case. I'm using a CM V8 cooler with MX4. I can only dream of idle temps like that.

Is your cooler really that much better than mine? It must be eh.

Idle temps dont mean a lot, dont worry about them, how do your load temps compare?

Used to run one at 3.6ghz, 1.400 vcore under a TRUE black, idled in the mid 30's, loaded at 68-68-62-62. Eventually got it to 3.8ghz, 1.512 vcore, same load temps as i lapped the cpu and cooler.

3.6GHz at 1.288v here (1.3v in bios I think). Prime stable.

Indeed, anything above that requires a lot more volts though, barely even boots at 4.0GHz with 1.5v

3.6GHz is the sweet spot for this chip it seems

Yep, my own was a 1.2750 vid chip, the jump from 3.6ghz to 3.8 was pretty high voltage wise.

I think for a 4-5 year old chip it's still holding up very well.

Blend test in Prime95. 100% CPU and 97% RAM.

Topped out at 74°c

Perfectly reasonable. However not as good as some of the temps these other guys are milking out it.

3.6Ghz @ 1.35V in bios. Idles at average of 24c over the four cores. Normal load temps (not prime95) of 60c average. Cooler as in spec.
