Still up sadly.

My mate jumped a fence trying to take a shortcut through a construction site and ended up slashing his hands to shreds on the metal prongs sticking up from the fence. 13 odd stitches later and a four hour wait in the hospital and we're both back at home.

**** NHS. Never had an experience with them before, and definitely will be trying to avoid visiting them again. Half of them didn't even have a clue what was going on.

That sucks. Is your friend ok? Apart from the holes in his hands, of course.

Did he cry like a baby? :) I would. No one would ever hear the last of it from me.

Too true mate, i cut my hand on some glass a few weeks ago and i ended up in hospital for 4 days  , i couldnt believe it, i thought i would have been in and out that day. Did your mate cut his tendons or was he lucky?, there just under the skin so easilly cut as i found out :( .

My hands have gone numb. :)

I'm still up. I feel like ****. I don't deserve sleep, to be honest. I have to wake up in 3 hours if I go to sleep now, I don't know if it's worth it or not...

I'm dreading going back to hospital on friday, i think I'm having the stitches out and I'm not looking forward to seeing my hand. Ive got a plaster splint and a load of bandages on at the moment. Its my own fault, i should have got some Kevlar gloves instead of the ones i was wearing.

I find that if i stay up im not that tired the next day but if i go to sleep for a couple of hours im tired all day. If you decide to stay up id reccomend having a few strong cups of coffee.

Yeah, same, sod it, I'd like to be awake in lectures at 9, not groggy and half dead. I'll get some coffee, do some work. Meh.

Nope, he just held his hands out in front of him and walked on. We got in a taxi ASAP and went to the hospital. He flinched a little while they were doing the stitches but other than that, didn't say a word regarding the pain. The booze might have helped I guess, but it still looked bloody painful. He's fine now that he got fixed up, just needs to keep the stitches in for 7 odd days and then he's good.

Don't think he cut anything, or injured anything major. Guess he was pretty lucky in that respect, could still move all his fingers fine etc...

Here's a picture I took of him haha :D

I'm up, but not for much longer. Got to head to brum in the morn for me grannys funeral (well, that's on friday, but things to sort out etc).
I spent the last 20 mins finding out who was behind the tune that plays in silence of the lambs while Buffalo Bill is tucking his bits away and dancing like a lady in the basement.. FYI it's: q-lazarrus - goodbye horses. And you can get it from here for FREEEE (legally):

"It rubs the lotion on its skin. Or else it gets the hose again."

Pure poetry.

Nice one, it doesnt sound like it was that deep then. My cut was about an inch and a half wide across the back of my hand but was quite deep, luckilly it missed my veins but unluckilly it cut the tendon for my index finger :( . I had the op 3 days after i cut my hand due to there not being enough staff, i was also put on a totally different ward as the orphapedic ward was full so any questions i had were met with "i dont know". Ive got to say though the nurses were very kind and friendly and looked after me while i was there. I didnt feel any pain at all untill i had to try and push my index finger up against the docters hand, i couldnt move it at all and felt a shooting pain, but other than that its been painless.
