Anyone else thing FF13 Sucked so very much?

The graphics were brilliant, and the combat system was pretty neat too. But everything else sucked such an insane amount, it was an absolute shadow of the previous ff games imo.

The absolute joke for me though was the fact the story was absolute pap. I mean they'd apparently streamlined it to make way for a more imersive story but it did not grip me at all. While lightning was a very cool character she was to hard faced to be likeable, don't even get me started on vanille and hope... And the story just lacked any sort of feel, it was hard to feel sorry for L'Cie if they hadn't built up likeable characters with strong backstorys. And it was even harder to feel sorry for the People of cocoon when they are invaded in later chapters.


Anyone else feel this way?

There's loads of threads like this about FF13. It's a marmite FF it would seem. I'm in the "I liked it" pile.

The game may not be as strong as previous Final Fantasy titles, but I still enjoyed it for what it's worth.

It took me til about chapter 8 before I even worked out what or why characters were doing what they were doing.

I didn't like it. Was hoping for something similar to FF7/8/10 etc but was massively disappointed. Sold the game not long after purchase.

But im afraid FF13 sucked balls, nothing like how final fantasy should be, Im fed up of games these days trying to be fancy coming up with something new and flashy, just leave games like FF they way they have always been

It's not your traditional FF but I'm loving it. 28 hours in and the story and characters along with the levelling and world still has me gripped. Well worth the £20 I spent on it.

I got to just over 30 hrs in and put it down... The crazy thing is.. I put it down once it opened up in chapter 11. After all the liner stuff it opens up a little. I think I just thought "I cba with this now"

If it was a lot more open from the start I think Id of still been playing it now. It's sooo liner for 10 chapters it's almost a joke!

At the beginning a certain grey haired Boy annoyed me, But during the course of the game i started to like him. I think they tried to show you a boy maturing due to struggle and for me it really stood out and made the story more enjoyable
