From what I heard this could be the best of the series especially since there is now a decent combat system. I would prefer to play this on PC but I am weak and do not think I can wait the extra month for it to be released after the console versions. I think I may buy it for the 360 and then sell it as soon as it releases on PC a month later.

I only have a PC (well I have an Amiga / C64 and some other retro stuff but I don't think it will be released on them) so I'll be waiting for the PC version.

Hopefully it's as good as they make out!

Has it even been announced for the PC let alone a release date so near to the console release? I'm guessing 5-8month gap based on previous difference from console to pc which is a shame.

You are right as far as I can see there is no release date yet for PC version. I have no clue where I got that PC date from. At least it makes that decision fairly easy then. Games like this look so much better on PC with increased draw distances and hopefully improved textures so if it’s as good as I think it’s going to be it will be worth buying again for PC.

buying it for a console would mean buying a console...
I wouldnt mind a 360 though. but my financial situation means im going to be waiting...

If I had the cash I'd definitely buy a console just for GTA4.

Is it even comming out on PC? Wiki says only PS3 and 360 so I assume it hasn't been confirmed yet?

GTA4 was really the tipping point for me buying a 360 at the weekend. Complete impulse buy but not regretting it yet - just finished halo 3 last night* :D

I felt obliged to buy halo 3 just because I have played the other two. Despite the bad rep it gets from PC gamers bungie do have some good ideas. I mean, auto recorded demos for every game you play (including campaign), multiplayer demo viewing. Proper co-op support (something sadly lacking from most pc games) and a multiplayer live map editor [ok this doesn't quite compare to tools like UnrealEd or Hammer but it's a lot more accessible and more than one person can use it at once].

Anyway, am looking forward to proper GTA multiplayer support. SA:MP was good but a bit late. Lag was terrible when it first came out and by the time it was updated I think the combination of vista + widescreen + other stuff put me off

APB is being developed by Real Time Worlds (same people who made Crackdown) is it not? Got nothing to do with Rockstar.

Correct, can't wait for it.

I'm getting GTA4 for the 360, may pick it up on the PC if it ever appears.

I know it's a tiny bit off topic but I can't search games sites from my work PC. Does anyone know if you can enter all the buildings in GTA 4? I had GTA 3 and thought it was spoiled a bit by the fact that the vast majority of buildings weren't accessible. If you want to make a free roaming city, you need open buildings!

no interest in GTA4 at all. Doesn't look any different from the previous GTA games. Doesn't look like it offers anything outstandingly new in the series. Definitly wont be near the top of my list of things to buy. Not now, not in a years time. If I do ever get it, it will be the PC version which i'll get via "other means"

I doubt all of them will be, but quite a lot of them will be accessible e.g Bars, strip clubs, a museum, comedy clubs, your own properties - all have had a mention of places you can go inside of. Also it has been said there will be no loading when going in/out of buildings at all.
