So is this normal? with load the difference between 1 and 2 as appose to 3 and 4 are quite big I am wondering if the coolers isnt level.

load temps of what ? and theres no way of judging things by idle temps really as your room temps could be warm.

Try intel burn test and report back also try prime 95

also do you have speed step on etc etc etc

I'd bung it at 3.5-3.6 ghz 1.45volts and see what the silver arrow can do that is total overkill for such a mild overclock

load temp with Small FFT in Prime95
no i don't have speed step enabled

Just got one of these yesterday and got my q6600 set to 3GHz too. I've got pretty much the same temps as you, idling about 35c to 40c and won't push 55c when I've ran prime95 on it and this is with the fans at 50%! My freezer pro was more like 60-65c running max when at the same 100% load on OC so yeah, I think this is a good upgrade.

Will be sticking it at 3.2-3.4 in a few weeks when I get a new PSU as mine is now the noisest thing in the system and is actually struggling with the OC (i can hear it sruggling!)

I think the thing with the silver arrow is it's so quiet and like I said, you can run it at 50% speed and still get great temps on nice overclocks.

What volts are you putting into it mate? Can't remember what i knocked mine down too but i took it straight off and down in the mid 1.2's i think.

What case you using with it bud? I was using some Xigmatek cooler i grabbed off another forum for 9 quid! and it was more or less the same temps as this baby :/

Volts is at 1.275v at the moment. I've come home tonight and it's not moved from 31c on idle so either it's colder in here or it's settled in a bit.

I'm using a coolermaster 690 II advanced. It only just fits and I mean just! A few mm either side and it wouldn't have! What case have you got?

I take it you're not too impressed with it then? I quite like it but I think that on the q6600 it's probably overkill and most aftermarket coolers will do the same for <£50 but I bet it's more impressive on the i7 ranges.

I'll have to see what it's like come march time when I get a better PSU to handle the higher OC to 3.4 or a bit more.

I'm using a R3, I am impressed and I aren't im in between really the thing is I will probs be bumping up to SB at some point and I don't have a cooler that will fit but this which is probably one reason I will keep it I'm not saying its bad at all its just annoying that I got a xigmatek cooler from a different forum for £9 and there performance is about the same though like has been said it will probs full ahead in a higher clock and work a bit better.
