I've seen a few around - used to have groen's little gem about the "van halen's [sic] belt" being a massive obstacle to space travel, and there are oh so many more that have tempted me since then, but nothing quite as golden as my current one. Perhaps we can get a little compendium going.

Only one so far... not just the sheer volume of siggable quites, but I'm sure I've seen a more diverse range of groen's sigs around here.

To be fair, it sounds like I'm singling groen out - which, I suppose, I am. I'd like to take the opportunity to say that I'm not holding anything against groen, nor am I inferring that I think he's a cretin or slightly retarded. He has strong opinions on things and I respect him (somewhat) for having the conviction to repeatedly post opinions that so many people think are absurd - whether I consider him to be right or wrong, you've got to acknowledge the fact that most people would have ragequit the forums by now. Kudos to you, groen, for giving me chuckles.

On a side note, why do so many of these ilk avoid capital letters like the plague? groen, magick, mattheman, doofer, dvdbunny... what's so abhorrent about the shift key?

Edit: I'm also of the opinion that groen trolls, but only via hyperbole of his true inclinations - there is a worrying seed of verity in every controversial opinion he expresses.

My point was regarding peoples comments (as stated in what I wrote), not just groen's. What was yours?

In which case, as mentioned, it's been a trend for a bit too long (since the early days of forums, as far as I'm aware) and is done by a bit too many people to be called a fad or band wagon.Your comments, as ever, come off as petulant and attention-seeking. Are you sad that you've never been sigged?

Edit: ^^^ :D

In which case, as mentioned, I'm already quite aware of this. And it's still circle jerking band wagon hopping and gratuitous patting on the back for peoples inane witticisms or stupid comments.

Your comment comes off as boring and unoriginal. Much like all those "sig worthy" sigs and quotes we see all over the forum.

You're right, how could I have been so blind? I'd better reform and change my ways before I lose my individuality

Iguana's got himself a pretty legendary sig, there. Reminds me of someone - not sure if it was here of GameFAQs boards - who quoted himself saying something like "Quoting yourself in your own sig is retardedly arrogant". Good times.

Deadbeat has a personal issue with me clearly he is a homosexual that was offended by my opinion and thus takes a sarcastic comment out of context in order to create a false impression about me across the forum. Pretty weak.

As mentioned, I'm not intending to make this a personal attack, rather to discover what other lolworthy quotes of yours I may have missed. My selection of your little gems was based purely on personal amusement, not out of any deep-seeded need to decry your views on homosexuality. For the record, it's not out of context - anyone following the quote link can avail themselves of your opinion of homosexuality with impunity - and I'm not sure why you assume I'm gay based on my selection.

Were here, were queer, we dont want anymore bears.

Aye, bears are the natural predator of the poof.

It was one of his last posts before being baned, so I guess it was the reason - probably for saying that i was homosexual, which didn't actually bother me that much, but I guess classes as a personal attack. Ironic, really.

It's amazing how you can start a bullying thread aimed at one of our members, he defends himself and gets banned but you remain posting.
Unbelievable.
I hope you're proud of yourself.

I said before that I'm not intending to single out groen, and even made mention of my motives to clarify that - highlighting that somebody has a habit of saying stupid things isn't bullying, unless you're the worst kind of hand-wringing panty waister. Also, he didn't get banned for defending himself, he got banned for calling me a homosexual (probably) - it's not like I led him into a trap or anything. It didn't offend me in the slightest, and were it my choice, he wouldn't have been banned. Your moral horse gets higher every day, and it's fast becoming too dangerous to get off safely.

Edit: I was under the impression that you can still view the forums while logged in to a suspended account, but you couldn't while you were banned. Is that the case?

I have a moral high horse? - you're definitely getting me mixed up with somebody else.
I've never RTM'd and I'm all for letting things slide because it is a forum.
However, I found it funny that you started a 'bullying' thread knowing that Groen would bite and he gets suspended.
No moral high horse just you being clever.

So you're saying I started with an intention to get groen banned? As someone has already pointed out, I've made a fair share of stupid comments myself - I don't think having someone start a thread to collect them together would drive me to say anything that would get me banned, I'd likely find it quite amusing - like laughing at yourself if you fall over. What exactly is so objectionable to assuming someone would see the lighter side?

With the amount of other comments posted on these forums bordering on ridiculing people, no, I didn't think it was a huge leap over the line. I also wasn't hoping groen would have a negative response - I assumed he would take it in good humour. Clearly he did not, and the fault lies with me - it was an error of judgement. I apologise to groen if he felt victimised by this.
