Anyone explain the difference please?

Ok so ive clocked my cpu at 3.7Ghz, had it at 4ghz but was not happy with the temps, the question is does 300Mhz make a notible difference in performance going from 3.7 to 4Ghz?

Is that with the stock HSF? If so, first call get an aftermarket one.
Try 500x8.5 1.275 vcore might get better results.

at that res combined with a 4890 i doubt it would make mich difference if the e8400 was at stock.
