anyone feeling brave enough to try this method? Some people have done it elsewhere across the net and had some luck :)

The improvement is amazing Baddass. For those not brave enough to give it a go it might be worth having a word with this chap to see what he would charge to do the job for you. I suppose it would work for all makes/models.

This chap specialises in repairing laptops and TFT screens, even polish out a scratch on a TFT panel. Laptop & TFT screen repair

Why bother? Just RMA it as faulty. If you start messing with it then the manufacturer can refuse to repair it.

for people who have been refused an RMA, or it's outside warranty, or they cant be bothered to return it again.....

If you RMA one its likely the replacement has the same problem, its a design problem.

tempted to give mine a go..

Think they have changed the model now, its got the flat buttons like the 30 inch so maybe thev changed the inside too?

I'm tempted to do it, how long is dell warrranty when you buy from their site? had it for a while now, hate for it to lose its warranty if i do open it and somehow it breaks at a later date.

think it's 3 years. Thing is, would they really know that you have voided the warranty? You can put it back together, but when you ring up for an RMA they have no way of checking or anything, they normally send out a replacement and change it there and then. they dont ask you to send it off and for it to be inspected, so you may be ok anyway :)

Yeh i very much doubt thed notice as long as ** real carful where all the visible joins are, its would be easy to put a few scratches in the plastic frame while getting it off. I havent decided if im gonna open mine up or return it or just live with it. I got back light bleeding from the top right its not that bad but it is noticable on v dark and blck screens.

Either way this tft is ridiculous

Would this work if the bleed was right across the middle of the screen or just the corners?

edit:

looking at the article again it looks like I would have to apply the tape across the back of the panel. Hmmmm Im sorely tempted to try this on my Samsung 930BF.
