Anyone flown with Vueling

Used them last summer to fly from Gatwick to Barcelona. Went hand luggage and upon checking in we were told the flight is nearly fully booked so they were putting carry on luggage in the hold free of charge, result but this made us fear the un-allocated seating would prove difficult and we may end up on the plane and without a seat, but there was no issue. Both outbound and return flight went without issue (although we slept the whole flight both times) and overall it was a reasonably pleasant experience. Would do again especially considering how cheap it was.

Both airlines (and most major UK/EU airlines with large fleets) are constantly taking deliveries of new planes but at the same time are going to have some much older ones puttering about as well - My point is its going to be pot luck, I bet somewhere out there there's someone who loved their trip on a spotless and brand new BA plane and not very impressed by the shabby and worn out Easyjet one.

As Fox already said, I doubt it. I've flown easyjet loads of times and the planes have always been modern and in good condition inside. Every time I can remember flying with BA, the interiors have looked very dated and worn.

It's not a major issue for me or anything - I know they're incredibly strict with safety so it wouldn't worry me flying on an older plane, it just seems silly to pay extra to fly on something much older and less comfortable inside.

On a long haul flight I'd definitely put a lot of effort into choosing the airline, but on a short haul flight I just don't see the point of doing anything other than going with the cheapest.

but on a short haul flight I just don't see the point of doing anything other than going with the cheapest.

Especially as even the legacy carriers like BA now operate a low-cost model on short haul anyway, so even if you pick BA you still have to pay extra for a bag etc.

Purchase on price alone for short haul.

To be honest I care more about the interior of the plane than the airframe age. Providing it is being serviced correctly of course.

BA are currently refurbishing the entire short-haul fleet. I can't remember what plane I was on at the end of last year (something in the A320 family probably), but that had the new short-haul interior and I thought it looked pretty nice. Charcoal grey leather seats, mood lighting, etc.

Yep, I've flown in a couple of "new" BA planes too. Fox (and lots of others) really dislike BA for some reason though. I don't quite understand why as I find they are usually amongst the cheapest and most direct airline for most of the longer haul (and sometimes shorter haul) flights I've done.

EDIT: Not that i'm suggesting a lot of the BA short haul planes aren't a bit worn.

Those who won't use an airline purely because they've not heard of them must really limit their travel options.
I wonder if they only visit destinations they've heard of and not venture anywhere new?
