Anyone for a kebab?

No bone? What are those occasional hard ground up bony bits in the donner meat slices then?

Anyone eating that elephant-leg kebab meat sober needs to stop asking for garlic sauce and start asking where it all went wrong in life.
I'd say the same about McDonalds. There is probably still more meat in them than potatoes in McDonalds fries.

I'd eat a kebab now if it was on offer. When they are good... they are unbelievable, but yes being serious, there is a lot of crap in the UK considering we pay more and have "better" standards.

Not so sure, at least with McDonalds you know exactly what you’re getting and they are very stringent on food hygiene etc.

Obviously not recommending people eat a maccies regularly either.

I don't like Maccies but their fries contain potato (95%/86% after cooking), oil (which they're cooked in), salt (which is added after cooking) and dextrose for colour.

Look at any frozen fries and they will usually contain not only dextrose but often wheat flour, tapioca, potato starch, turmeric, paprika, rice flour etc. Most will be lower % of potato too.

Ah, perhaps it was the American fries I was thinking of? Not forgetting the pink slime they used to use also.

I was having a Keebab for me dinner

In fairness their beef burgers is actually 100% beef with no fillers etc.

To be honest I'm not sure why mcdonald's tastes so bad because by all accounts they use decent ingredients.

They're on the hook for 3/4 of a mill for lying about their food products after an investigation.

Not following standards doesn't mean they're not there, just like speed limits.
As always, when funding is cut, we can't expect much else. In terms of capacity and ability to catch this stuff more often.

You can buy Doner kebab spits (aka elephant legs) for £1.80 a kilo.

How much meat do you think is in them?

Was looking at nice cuts of lamb in a supermarket, about £20 a kilo.

Even breast of lamb is about £10 a kilo. Which kinda makes sense as it's 50% fat.

At £1.80 a kilo, lamb flavour inspired kebab style legally evasive descriptive name here.
