Anyone for Chess?

Just created an account as dodgem101 on chess.com...

I used to play against a guildmate from Denmark while we were raiding in WoW :) Chess board setup next to me and whispering our moves to each other whilst knacking whatever the current evil doer was ;)

Anyway, if anyone fancies a correspondance game, just send me a challenge (3 day move sounds about right at the mo).

Challenged you to a game.

Challenged you to a game.

I only twigged a couple of days ago that you are here! Noticed a post in some thread or other by maustin, and thought "Hang on... that's who i'm playing chess against!!"

It's been a while since i played other than a quick 3 minute game against some random person - couldn't think fast enough cos i'm so out of practice! Still, enjoying our game atm :D

My play has definitely improved again over the last few weeks.

For anyone interested, I've set up a group here.

If anyone fancies a correspondance game or two this evening, just let me know.

Wahey...chess! Used to be rather good as a junior, but stopped playing when I went to uni. Just recently been thinking of picking it up again and checking out a local club or something when saw this thread.

How does chess.com work? From reading it obviously doesn't seem to be live games...is it pretty much sign in when you have time and make a move :p?

You have live and correspondance games. The latter can be anything up to like 15 days per move. Most tend to play three days per move and the clock starts ticking from the moment you move.

I'll give a quick game to someone, but none of this 3 day malarky.

I'd play you live but my computer spacks out on it, hence why I stick to the correspondance. There's no reason why you can't challenge to a 1 day per move correspondance game and just move much faster. It's what I've done with other members.

Of course your enjoying it you've got me on the backfoot and are about to win :D

To be fair i posted that over a month ago ;) Just made the final move! Thanks for the game - it was a good one to get me back into chess :) I'm game for a rematch if you fancy it...
