Need some good places to go. I am going over to IoM to surprise my wife for her birthday and need to know of some nice places to meet her. I will ask her Mum to get her to go out somewhere (nice place needed) and I will be waiting there, Any nice places people can recommend?

There are loads of nice places to go

What kind of place are you after? Like a restaurant or an outdoor location?

Also, why weren't you going to the IOM with her for her B'day in the first place? (just interested) :)

Odd scenario, why is she over there for her birthday not with you? If she is visiting her mother why not ask her mother where is best to go, given she lives there *and* knows her daughter well?

I was going to go, but couldnt get the time off work, but last week someone swapped a few shifts with me, but I thought instead of tell her Il be coming, I will surprise her by going over.

She doesn't get to see her parents as they live over there so is going as a holiday and to see her parents.
She will be taking the kids with her too and she said she dont want to go without me, so I told her I'll be fine just go and convinced her to go, but she is still down I wont be there to spend her birthday with her which she really wants as she wants to spend it as a family (me, her and our kids together).

Somewhere Outdoors would do, dont fancy just turning up at her parents and knocking on the door and going 'Surprise!' so want somewhere to meet her.

Ok, sounds good :)

Now, where do her parents live? Because even though its a small island it can take a while to drive to certain places

If the weather is good you can't beat Dhoon Glen (Near Laxey), nice little walk down to a secluded beach. Bit of an uphill walk on the way back though :)

Is your wife Manx? I only ask cause if you are Manx and you have lived there all your life you can't be bothered with the general tourist stuff but if she isn't then you could go to Laxey Wheel or Up the moutain on the tram.

She has only been there once before so tourist sites would be nice.
Her parents live not far from the airport so Il be walking / busing where i need to go.

Plenty of places, Laxey Wheel is a good shout if she's not been there before and then head to Laxey beach after. If it's a sunny day as we've had the past week head to Peel, grab an ice cream, or have a pint outside one of the pubs and walk round the harbour/castle and chill out the beach.

Edit: just read she lives near Castletown (where the airport is), probably best to head walk around Castletown then, it's got the castle, standard quirky small shops, pub and beach. Could go for a walk around scarlett which is nearby.
