Nvidia drivers are offering two different 3D modes. One requires a $520 set up, the other is just a traditional Blue and Red glasses thing (anaglyph).

To get a decent pair of these, it looks like I have to spend a few pounds. I was wondering if anyone here has tried the anaglyph 3D mode and could tell me if its any good/worth it?

Not tried the red/green stuff but when it works the new LCD glasses and 120Hz LCD screens rock. Sadly my fav, FSX, is spoilt by several light source bugs. Most noticeably the PAPI lights.

Are the glasses supplied with any of the OcUK cards?

The US Nvidia website says they are supplied with some cards from some retailers.

This is really interesting...

Looking at a graphics card upgrade and have been with ATI since I had a Geforce 2, simply because ATI offered best bang for buck. This could turn the tables for me...

I remember trying something similar nearly a decade ago when my Elsa Geforce card came with some LCD glasses. The technology wasnt bad, but some games it just didnt work well I felt. e.g using it with Counter Strike put me at a disadvantage, focusing my eyes on the xhair meant everything else looked blurry. Constantly refocusing in a fairly fast-paced game such as that gave me headaches in a short time.

I know the latest incarnation of the technology probably works better but it still doesnt warrant the price tag/performance hit.

I used to since 2004 using my 7900GTO and Edimensional 3D Glasses in XP until I gave away my 22" CRT a few months ago.

My glasses would every few mins flip the shutter sync from the left eye to the right which was annoying but when it worked it was fantastic. My favourite game with them was the first Flatout :)

The new Asus 24" 120Hz 1080p VG242H or a 120Hz Optoma HD65 3D will do for me later in the year when they hit retail.

Kinda tempted by the 3D Vision compatible Samsung PS50A476 Plasma but it ghosts more than the 22" Viewsonic or Samsung 120Hz widescreen monitors and is £500!
