I am being serious...

Looking to u/g my pc soon, and 50/50 on whether I want to just switch to linux, or actually try windows 7...

I've run a few games through linux without any terrible issues, and wondered what anyones opinions were on being able to run say the latest games in linux?

When I last dabbled in Linux (2-3 years ago), about half of my games worked.

Luckily if you go through Wine, or even the paid-for version Cedega, most 'popular' games will run, albeit with limitations. At the time I could play both Guild Wars and WoW flawlessly (WoW actually ran better) and those two MMOs kept me occupied.

Take a look through WineHQ, a VERY useful site that shows you which games run using it, as well as instructions, screenshots, limitations and user comments :)

Nothing to be embarrassed about either, I would still game through linux if there was more support for 3rd party apps - I've always felt with Linux that there was something I couldn't do, and didn't like the restriction.

Edit: I also found it a bit more tedious; its not a simple 'insert cd, install, play' process, as you have to manually input commands through cmd, as well as install other packages e.g. Visual C++. Still, I guess some people enjoy that aspect.
