Anyone get a psp slim?

Yep, bought it 3 days ago, well impressed, good graphics and feels and handles very stylish, a lot like my PS3.

I have played Tekken Dark Resurrection, Ridge Racer, Everybody's Golf, Sonic Rivals and Crash Tag Team Racing.

The only problem is that I did not receive my 4GB memorystick yet so can't save which is a pain.

I can honestly say I haven't got any, and I think that is a risk you take purchasing any LCD display, wether a tv or a psp/ds/laptop etc.

We sell them at work, but its getting the manager to let me open a box prior to me purchasing it. Well its either that or I buy it and take it back the next day/later on that day!
Think the best time to ask would be near the end of a slow day when down on targets ;)

I got a monitor from here last year and its got 1 dead pixel in the centre of the screen , cant send it back as its only 1. Im getting one for Christmas this year, but im so tempted to get one myself, funny thing is i cant see any bundle deals for them anywhere yet. There looks to be some fantastic PSP games out soon Joan d'arc game and the FF game are definate purchases.

Need to add Killzone Liberation to that collection :)

Couldn't you have sent it back under distance selling laws?

Is it true you do not get the component cables to hook it up to your TV? thats a bit crap (can i say that?) if it's true. That's the only reason i would get a thin PSP.

Collected mine today, came with lego starwars, ridge racer 2 and an essentials kit for £129. Also bought a 512mb duo for £3.99.

This is my first PSP so I don't know how it compares to the old one. So far very impressed, graphics are excellent and the games I have seem really good. I have just won burnout legends on an auction site for £5.

Yeah I got one yesterday. Only got MGS:PO for it. I've got one dead pixel (well, stuck I suppose, only the red component works) but it's not too bad. You can't see it when playing anyway because it's on a dark area of the HUD.

I thought it had some internal memory so I had to go out and buy a memory card when it came, which was a bit of a pain.

the new one is 33% lighter, 19% thinner, has 64mb internal memory (old one had 32mb), it also has TV out and UMD cache

Ok, noob question...

whats the diff between this and the first one?

Not a lot. It's slightly thinner, lighter, has TV out and has twice as much flash memory for firmware upgrades. This is of no use to you directly as you can't save games to the flash or anything, but it does mean that in the future the slim will get its own firmware upgrades potentially supporting more features. Oh and it can now charge from a USB port.

That's about it. Nice new touches, but hardly worth the upgrade if you already have an old style PSP.

Im stuck between getting one of these and the new touch/ipod

Are the Tv Out cables available yet???

Personally i will use the PSP more for PS3 connectivity, networking couldnt care less about most of the games yet i have a feeling GT5 might just be one of those games like LAIR that will be playable on both PS3 and PSP...PLEASE POLYPHONY!!!

Guys do all the HD videos/trailers on PSN work on the PSP's SD res screen?

I'll wait till the poospe comes out in pink as my gf wants one:p:D. Saying that though, my original psp is sat in the corner gathering dust..should relaly get aorund to flogging it i suppose...but problem being is that i had it sent over from Canada a few yrs ago...so cant trade it in here. Mistake i made was not taking it to Canada where i could have traded it in a few weeks ago...

Dont think ill bother with the new one tbh, ive got a 360 which meets all my gaming needs.

Sounds good apart from........

1. What firmware does it ship with ?!
2. Why the hell would you want to play PSP on a bloody television ??

I do own one but don't get the whole TV thing nor understand the apparent benefits of the latest firmware.

Apart from that, do the new ones still feel as well built as the originals?
I don't mean to sound harsh but the blatent "hobbling" of the psp annoys me because it can do so much more?

Firmware on mine was 3.00 and I don't want to play on my TV, I got a PS3 for that.

I did not have a PSP yet, if I had one I would not get the new one.

you should be able to downgrade that to 1.5 as long as your willing to take the risk.

One of the benefits is that Scummvm will work on your psp enabling you to play Flight of the amazon Queen :D plus many other benefits. Read up on it its defo worth it. ;)
