(No mods I don't really want to discuss it with you directly, but rather get the opinions of others here, hence posting it in GD).

Does anyone feel the mods are being too over zealous in their closing (and also threatening to close) of threads?

Eg in a thread out Assange leaking information about the government etc:

Anymore posts about Trump or Hillary and this thread is going.

wut?

The thread you mention above was being used for Trump vs Hilary discussion whilst the appropriate thread was closed. Hence the post by EVH.

Threads are only closed when they are inappropriate or the amount of rule breaks become too much to handle.

I have closed this but not deleted it so members are still able to see the question you have posed. All members are welcome to post in the Forum Content Discussion forum if they wish to raise an issue with the mod team.

I will add that it gets tiresome dealing with the same individuals looking to turn a thread to push their own agenda. In the case of the Assenge thread we'd received no less than 4 RTM's complaining about how the thread was being used to argue about the US presidential election. As a poster I had no input, but as a mod the best and most efficient method was to issue a warning instead of removing 10+ posts (this always seems drastic).

Please don't see my warning as a power hungry ego trip.. sometimes a blunt message is enough. As it was in this case :)
