Anyone getting Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands?

I want them to be on special offer on Steam. :(

I've had them for years :)

Mind you I didn't really play SOT until WW was about to be released (about a month before), so I fell in love with the game, completed it, then WW came out - I was a very happy chap :D

Yes, it was the same with me. I hadn't even heard of The Sands of Time until the marketing campaign for Warrior Within. So then I had both to play together. And only had to wait for The Two Thrones. I had them all on DVD-ROM but flogged all my disc-based games as the Steam catalogue began to expand.

Ah I see!

I had heard of SOT, but when I was talking games to a colleague and he found out I'd never played it he began to beat me to a pulp until I bought it :p

Sorry to sound like a retard but I've never played a POP game, which ones are worthwhile on the 360?

Err don't think any of the original 3 are on the 360 mate. Hit up eBay and see if you can grab them for the PC. Great games :)

I've played an hour or two of this on the PS3. I didn't play much of the previous versions, although I played the more recent one.

I like it. It's not bad at all graphically, flows well and although the combat isn't earth-shattering, it's a nice change to the great platforming and puzzles, which work well.

There are plenty of 'cheap' deaths available to swinging spikey things or falling floors, but I've not felt myself being too frustrated so far - the camera could do with pulling back a bit more in some places.

I think the biggest problem is it's being released amongst so many other great games.

Got 65% through SOT yesterday....

I started it yesterday :o

The original Sands Of Time? Yeah, it can be done pretty quick. I can complete it in 4 hours, having played it multiple times and knowing it inside out. I need to pick up another copy and have another crack at it to try and get 100% completion (all sand and life expansions) in under 4 hours, that'd be brilliant.

There's a run on Speed Demos Archive with someone doing it in about 2 1/2 though that mainly involves not fighting and doing the puzzles while getting nailed by the monsters.

Assuming it's anything like the previous Sands games, I'd imagine that the dagger allows you to rewind time any time you run into trouble, thus avoiding too much frustration.

If you want to see just how good the dagger/rewind system is, play Sands Of Time and then play Tomb Raider: Legend. There will be blood.

Yeh the SOT released a few years back. Playing it on the PC. I probably could've got further if I wasn't talking on Facebook at the same time, and despite completing it several times not getting stuck on stupid bits scratching my head...

Also by not going to the Cinema to see the SOT film :p

Also by playing it for the extra 90mins I was up after I stopped playing it...

I'm expecting to complete it today and starting WW afterwards :p

Good stuff! Warrior Within got a bad press for the Prince being hilariously emo and the game being all dark and bloody, but it is a lot better than a lot of people will give it credit for because the level design is spectacular.

The combat is also needlessly complex, but it works well enough.

Aye, I've done all 3 games before and thought WW definately focused on combat more, but it just seemed to work well! What I liked about TTT was that it brought more of the puzzles back into it and more free flowing movement (not saying WW didn't have that, just was more interested in killing bad guys! (Although in spectacular fashion!) and then integrated the combatness when you turned into the Dark Prince. Fantastic stuff!!

Not that I'm addicted or anything...

What I like about TFS is that the original guy from SOT narrates again :D

It's a shame the Euro version of TTT is censored though. No heads flying off or bodies splitting for us which is stupid considering they had it abound in WW.

An advert during the footie? Must be wanting to raise the game's profile a bit as it got drowned out by RDR. 800 Microsoft points if you buy at HMV! Are we allowed to say that shop or not? I don't know what's what round here anymore.
