Im getting my derpy troll clan together to have fun lose in the group stages and troll the css community.


Who else will be there??

Its a large lan normally held in Newbury race course but has recently been moved. Its been running for how ever many years and has grown to be the largest community gathering of gamers and the biggest lan held in the country. The only one I know of being bigger is Dreamhack... how could I forget MLG...

Its a weekend event of gaming, company stands for promotion (if Ocuk hasn't got a stand there. Why not?), competitions and general gaming community fun.

Some of the biggest players of the gaming community go there, to host it, play, or spectate. (eg, Total Biscuit, Yogscast, Team Dignitas eg D. Apollo)

Every single person I know that has gone has had an amazing time.

Also its only £65 for the weekend at the moment because i45 has only just ended.

The friday is mostly giveaways from the sponsors of the event (such as steelseries, monster, gigabyte)

i40, Monster were giving out 1L cans of it. The cans were bigger than my head.

Once I do a bit more digging ill upudate this post when I can.

Call it the Official Iseries Thread if you will. (without the copious amounts of stars)

Have been to tons of these in the past (since i21). Fantastic fun, they are what you make it. If you want to be competitive you can have fun, casual is just as fun if not more and no pressure around game times etc.

Love them! :)
 
Last time I went to the Newbury one me and my friend spent far too long in the bar. We were betting on horses online then drinking and talking to the staff.

We spent so much of our time in there that the guy at the chip shop thought we worked at the bar and gave us free food. He then said he'd be over later for a whiskey, surprisingly he never got a free whiskey :)
 
Ahh ok.. my brother-in-law keeps going on about that for next year but i fear i might be too old.. My reflexes aren't what they used to be. Thanks for the link

It doesn't matter weither your good or bad.

Im average when it comes to the pro tournaments, im just going because it would be insane amounts of banter and getting drunk with your mates and gaming while doing it.
 
My Son plays for Visualize Your Enmity and attends the i series, he said i45 was a bit **** as it seemed geard more towards pub quizzes, even to the extent of delaying CS matches!

He also goes to Epic LAN which he says is smaller but more fun and feels like a LAN should be.

Only time I've ever been to LAN is to drop him off but as he's older he's been making his own way there for the last couple of years. Always looked fun and if I was younger think I'd have stayed!!!

Went to i45 and hoping to go i46, clan are looking to see if we can get a box booked again.

As far as i45 goes it was really good fun. We got destroyed in every tournement entered but still had a blast. Food for the most part was good, the centre at Telford is pretty close to a big Asda and loads of places to grab food from if you don't want to eat in the centre itself. There were exhibitors there running competitions, selling products and allowing you to try out new games on some cool hardware.

Overall an awesome event, looking forward to i46 :D
 
I really do think Overclockers should look into getting a stand there.

3000+ gamers? im sure you can sell some stuff there. :D
 
I'm tempted - never been to one before.

If there are 20 or 32 people up for it... looks like we could get a private room for an extra tenner each?
 
My team of 5 are together.

We are calling ourselves Team Trokl.

We are a going for jokes group who are just going to get hammered and enjoy ourselves.

Ill put it down to the drink if they say. Next game is the finals with very games and team trokl.

Come on. There must be more of you going.

This is to the right people ofc.

OCuK have you thought about having a stand here. Its not to far away and you could get a lot of potential buyers and business at iseries. It could be something to look into. (even companies there that want you to resell there products.)
