I have been using wireless mice to game for YEARS, I decided it was time to make the change to a wired mouse as I have had nothing but issues in my experience with wireless pc tech.

I had a Logitech G700S, a top of the line wireless mouse but it was beset with problems such as crashing software and reception problems.

I got a Mad Catz RAT TE, to begin with I didn't like how the cable dragged on the end of the desk which interfered with aiming up or down. I now have it plugged into my keyboards usb port which has eliminated the drag issue.

It still feels odd though and the sensation of being tethered to a wire is hard to forget when I'm playing a fast paced online fps like BF4.

Anyone else made this change and any tips on getting used to a wired mouse?

Thanks

I did. I used wireless for about 6/7 years then went back to wired. Mainly for the weight and ergonomics, I could never find a wireless mouse that met my requirements fully.

Tips-wise, get a bungee, certainly helped me.

Its all about arranging enough slack in the wire to match how much you move the mouse.

If there's too much weight pulling the cable down the back of your desk then you're going to feel it when you need more cable.

Of course now that you've noticed it you're going to be over-obsessed with the wire drag :p

I went from Logitech(Wireless) to Razr(wired) not really for performance as I am useless with either but just because I would forget to charge it so would goto my PC and would need to plug the bleedin' thing in anyway.

I hate wired mice but I've never found a wireless mouse that is even close to acceptable for twitch shooters.

So far the best solution for me has been a bungee - currently using the Zowie Camade. (I find the cable drag from a long cable annoying more than the tethered feel though).

I used a Logitech MX Revolution wireless mouse for about 5 years, mainly due to how comfortably it felt in my hand.

But the responsiveness of it, was not very good, felt like you was pushing it through mud.

So I tried a few different mice, but I settled for the Razer DeathAdder Chroma.

Excellent fit for my hand, very sensitive, and the braided cord is so light, that I don't even feel it.

SNAP!

I went from Logitech mx for business to a g600 for mmos. I'm not sure if it was the buttons, flimsiness, or cable drag but I hated the g600 so it's now sitting in a box in the cupboard and I have the mx master.

I don't play twitch as much as I used to but neither of the wireless mxs have ever made me feel they're unresponsive

I used a wireless Logitech G700 for 3-4 years, until it started malfunctioning after years of abuse, and bought a wired Logitech G502.

Must admit got used to the wire pretty quickly, and it helped that the G502 seems much more responsive and precise than the G700.

Tbh I have never been into fps games so the "twitch" has never been important to me.

I have a razer naga. Best thing I have ever used for MMORPGs like wow or swtor.

I did use a normal wireless mouse bought from the local supermarket. Sometimes it wouldn't connect to my Laptop but I think that was/is to do with faulty USB ports.

I used to use a Razer Mamba and the batteries used to run out too fast for my liking so I just started using it with the wire plugged in all the time. Not tried wireless since, its just not worth it for me personally.

ordered one last week to replace my 10yo razer diamondback plasma which has developed a buggered scroll wheel
should be here tomorrow :)

I had a wireless logitech mouse that lasted a few years and still works but got sick of changing the batteries every 6 months.

never had any other issue.

went back to a sensei raw wired mouse recently and it seems nice, the wire is nice and stiff etc.

only reason I really went wireless in the first place was because the wired cables always got wrecked easy from all the flexing they do but it seems modern mice have braided cables which stops this by keeping the wire nice and stiff

I use a Steelseries Sensei wireless mouse and have to say it's the best wireless mouse I've ever used - period. I can't tell the difference with it being wired or wireless. Plus the battery life is world class, I have not been able to run the battery down after using it all day long, in fact it does not even get half way!

Great software as well.

10 years?! I've never had a Razer mouse last longer than 3. First Diamondback was scroll wheel, 2nd was right click, first Lachesis the sensor borked, but I've had this Lachesis since October 2012 and it's still working, although the left and right click buttons sometimes click without registering, but only if I do it super super lightly so it's not really an issue!

Thinking about switching to a Logitech G502 when this one dies, seems pretty nice. I never liked the old Logitech mice, always liked the smaller Razer ones that you can actually lift off the mouse mat.

My razer didn't last 2 years and it barely got used the first year, warranty was useless aswell considering I had a dead sensor + double clicking

I'm using a Performance MX at the moment, mainly to get away from the mouse drag issue that others have mentioned.

I really don't have any issues with it, although I don't play FPS competitively any more - or even online at all. If I did I suspect I'd be much more choosy and probably the weight, above all, would be the blocker.
