As I said in your last thread, you need something that'll work as a client of the router's wireless network. Not all APs will do that.

So i need two of these - Linksys WRT54GL
and a dsl modem to connect to the internet - Linksys AG241

Does the WRT54GL have a removable antenna???

I suggest looking up the netgear WG102 fo connecting up another building. it supports connection to other APs

Its a bit more solid as well as having removable antenna

thats great, i had a quick look on google and there is firmware on there that will make this router work as a client, its called DD-WRT.

So i will order two of these linksys WRT54GL and also a Linksys AG241 to handle the net connection.

Im also going to order 4 outdoor antenna's because i read somewhere that you should replace all antenna's as one recieves and one sends information.

i really appreciate your help on this, no doubt i will be back on when i get everything.

cheers

As long as you're using the Linksys AP as an extension of a wireless network (in which case your original suggestion would probably work too, given AFAIK both devices do WDS), rather than as a bridge to another wired network.

Hi guys,
so what i am looking at getting from what you have said is:

Linksys WRT54GL
Netgear WG102

and then 3 external aerials, two for the linksys and 1 for the netgear.

Will this be ok to work together, i would really like to find out guys as i need to get this setup
